    “The best part is the diving company on site ”

    We just came back from a 7 days stay at the Occidental Cozumel and I can honest say I would only go back there for the diving company they have on site. I will say tho the hotel is very nice, they are located in a gorgeous kind private beach, the amenities are amazing, room is gigantic and very nice, but that’s it! Food is horrible, and for an all inclusive resort, that should be taking care of. I tried for many days to get a decent breakfast with eggs, bacon and with something else hot, and it was impossible! Food was cold or dry! Waffles were probably cooked hours before since they seam all super hard. Lunch/dinner was better! First days were good, but after gets boring. Everyday is the same exactly thing. Changes just a little bit. Many of their items are very well cooked, with good taste, but again, almost everything is cold. The hamburger, was one of the worst meal I had. The pork or carnitas was always super delicious tho. And the ice cream machine and desert table I can’t complaint. The drinks were good. Staff, waiters and waitress was always very helpful, and I feel like after my complaint about some problems regarding food and restaurant reservations, which btw is ridiculous and need to be change, we got “take care off”. Again, please change the way the reservations are made. Is unbelievable that a hotel that big, only offers 2 restaurants open a day, with limited seating and with no possibility of a large group seating together. Also, only one agent to make the reservations is also ridiculous. I must say, we did ended going in all 3 restaurants with menu, and the food was incredibly good!

    “Diving with Pro Dive”

    Stayed here for two weeks and went diving with Pro Dive. Mylene was very helpful in setting us up with our dives and rental gear. We dove with some great DM’s . Gary, Ivana, Courney and Sandra were all great, very attentive to everyone and watched out for our safety. As we are experienced divers we enjoyed being able to stay down for a full hour each dive. The DM’s were all good at pointing out some of the more unusual creatures on the reef. One day the currents on one of the reefs were reported to be doing strange things and so Captain Primo made the decision for the safety of all to move our second dive to Punta Delila which is a great dive site. We appreciated all the help from both Primo and Flaco (captain and assistant) they were both great. Flaco is the best. He always helped me with my gear and brought us water and fruit with a smile. If you want easy diving then get the guys at the shop to carry your gear and rinse it out afterwards for you. Tony helped us this time and David who had helped us last time got back during our second week after a hand injury. These guys are great and always smiling and happy to help. Cozumel really does have some of the best diving in the world. See you all next year!

    “Great beach, crummy food”

    This was a first for my husband's dive group, wives included. The resort's beautiful beaches totally live up to the website claims. The food and the restaurants do not. We tried every day to get reservations for the special restaurants and not once were we able to get them. Oh, except for the night we were going to be home.😫. We tried every day and got a different reason why we could not eat in the special restaurants. Food in the buffet started out yummy but progressively got bad. The pools are nice. The wildlife conservation is very good and many birds and butterflies are a pleasure to watch. The mosquito population not a pleasure to embrace. Go prepared.

    “Beautiful grounds and room. Mediocre food.”

    One of the main reason we chose them is because they allow other dive centers to pick you up at their dock. Grounds are like being in your own private jungle and very well kept. Reservation process for dinner sucks. How can there be no space available yet restaurant is almost empty? Hardly any availiblity at LaCarreta.

    “Relaxing vacation on resort”

    Beautiful property and staff is wonderful. Very quite and relaxing they offer spa they have a beautiful beach. The food is average they could improve in this area that's why I'm not giving them a 5. I'm very picky about clean and the staff doing a good job and grounds that's why im giving them a 4 star. They have made sure everything is how we want it. The bars at pools close at 5:30 but they don't chase you out of pools that's very rare you find that so we have been able to relax in pool later than ever before on a vacation. We don't drink that's the resin most resorts close pools down early is because of people drunk and the viability on the resort if something happens. Only down draw is we are time share holders we travel 4-5 weeks a year. The first club is the other side of resort from pools and first club and bathrooms. Has not been an issue for us as I knew to request building 19. Pool is right next to us. Beach 3 min away. It's alot of walking but we don't mind that. This has been the most relaxed vacation with great beach and staff. Rooms are very clean and service is prompt come and enjoying your looking for a big resort with alot of partying then I don't think this is for you. They do have a live band at least once and they have alot of activities to join. Seen some bad reviews for this property but I have none except food could be better
