Beneath the mountain lies one of the most striking natural settings in the province of León. This excursion takes you into the underground world of the Valporquero Caves, a landscape shaped over thousands of years by the action of water.
The journey from León includes a stop at the Vegacervera Gorge, where steep rock walls rise dramatically, offering a first glimpse of the area’s distinctive geology.
Once at the caves, located at over 1,300 metres above sea level, you will begin a guided route through its different chambers. Along the way, you will pass through spaces such as the Great Rotunda and the Hall of Wonders, where stalactites, stalagmites and other formations create an ever-changing underground landscape.
The constant interior temperature contrasts with the outside conditions, enhancing the feeling of entering a completely different environment defined by silence and the scale of its caverns.
After the visit, you will return to León, having explored one of the region’s most unique natural sites.
