The tour begins with a bus departure from Paris. After a short rest stop, you’ll arrive at Omaha Beach, one of the five beaches where the famous Normandy landings took place during World War II. Here, for an hour and a half, your guide will take you through this historic site, explaining the strategic importance of this beach in the liberation of Europe. You’ll have the chance to view the commemorative sculptures honoring the soldiers who gave their lives for freedom and learn about the key events that occurred here on June 6, 1944. After exploring Omaha Beach, the journey continues to Mont Saint-Michel, a fortified island crowned by an impressive Gothic abbey dating back to the 8th century. This UNESCO World Heritage site is renowned for its incredible medieval architecture and panoramic views. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time for lunch. We recommend trying the famous soufflé omelet at La Salicorne restaurant, located in La Caserne, a local specialty you won’t want to miss. After lunch, if you have chosen the option, you’ll visit the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, a spectacular monument that looks straight out of a fairytale. The abbey has been a pilgrimage site for centuries and offers a fascinating blend of history, spirituality, and Gothic art. From its terraces, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding tidal flats, and you can explore its intricate halls and chapels. If you prefer, you can wander through the medieval streets surrounding the abbey, filled with charm and culture.
