    “Great resort with some downfalls!!”

    My family stayed there for 2 weeks. Beautiful place to stay. We all enjoyed ourselves. The Staff was great. There was some downfalls to this place. I'll go with the good then get to the not so good. The room (good): Our room was nice and big. Huge bathroom with 2 sinks. We got a room with an ocean view but we also could see the pools. It was very well kept and we would come back to a clean room each day. Room (bad): The fridge was only refilled when my boyfriend would tip... Doesn't seem right to me. With 4 people 2 include kids you would expect it to be refilled each day! Also the bathroom door would lock as it was broken. The restaurants (good): They had 3 different types of restaurants which is great. The hotel does pretty book you for 3 of the restaurants as well. The Mexican and Italian were are favorites. Lots of different types of food to choose from. The waiters were always so friendly and quick. Restaurants (bad): the Japanese restaurant was horrible. There portions are tiny and honestly not that good. The waiter was a jerk and it took an hour for our food to get to us and 2 cranky kids because it was taking a long time. Also he didn't come back to offer us any more drinks. It took over 30 minutes to get desserts. We never went back after that. DISAPPOINTING!!!!! As being there for 2 weeks we got 6 reservations and the 1st week they were not spaced out at all and were1 really late considering we have 2 younger kids, booking the next 3 were a chore as they never had any of the times we wanted and we had to wait a long time in line to just book them. Something needs to change there!!!! Check in: was a breeze didn't even have to go to the front desk to get our room keys. Flying on sunwing we got all put keys and papers once we landed in Mexico!! The staff (good): The staff seemed friendly and helpful!! Very polite! The staff (bad): They told us we couldn't reserve the beach chairs ahead of time and everytime we would go down there there were towels on chairs and no people even around. They do cater to there locals more than tourists. We did get fed up after awhile and take towels off the chairs because no one wold be using the chairs till later afternoon. The staff basically told us they couldn't take the towels off!!! VERY FRUSTRATING AND DISAPPOINTING!!! Entertainment crew (good) All of them were fantastic! The shows were awesome. There was alot of hard work into putting those shows together! Our family loved watching them each night! The kids mini disco was a hit with our kids. Just before the show around 830 the mini disco started and all the kids could come up on stage and dance with some of the Staff. Carolina with the Barcy club was FANTASTIC with the kids. She did some many different things with the kids. My kids loved her! THANKS CAROLINA!!! Also Cristian was awesome!!!! They also have a Disney show that was awesome kids loved it!! The entertainment crew (bad): Being there 2 weeks the shows don't change so it got boring fast for us. A change would be good!!! Our sunwing rep Miguel: He was so helpful with any questions we had. He also gave us great places to eat outside of the resort. Thanks Miguel!!!! The outside was very clean and well kept. We always seen the workers out there working hard to keep it clean!!! I'd come back to this resort!!!!

    “Great Holiday.”

    Had a great holiday at the Barcelo Karmino. We had a great view, room 5013. Room was very spacious, outdated a bit but it appears they are doing some updates as seen a few rooms under renovation. Bathroom was huge with a shower and a tub along with 2 sinks. Lots of pools, some not very deep but one was over my head when I jumped in. Never had too much problem getting a sun lounger in the morning. We had breakfast everyday at the Italian restaurant. The egg lady made the best omelets. We usually had lunch there too, where you could order off the menu. We at at the buffet every night, didnt do any of the ala cartes. The servers and bartenders were all friendly and efficient. The maid service was also great. She would see us leaving the room in the morning to hit the pool and ask us if we were ready to have the room cleaned. The only thing I missed at this resort was the sound of the waves crashing and chocolate martinis. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Manzanillo. I also used the spa twice for massages as I through my back out while I was there. I also had great service there.

    “Some things great, some things could be improved.”

    My husband and I travel to Mexico twice a year. This was our first time at a Barcelo resort and our first time in Manzanillo. We were at the Barcelo Kamina Feb 10-17. Here is a list of some of the things that were great: Staff were wonderful. Massage at the spa was one of the best ever. Room was large and maid service was excellent. Resort itself was beautiful and always kept clean. Ambiance, service and food at Mexican restaurant was awesome; the Italian restaurant was lovely as well. Buffet was good with lovely outside seating available. Could use improvement: Provide hair conditioner along with shampoo. Post and announce activities and location in several places. More entertainment staff for daily activities. Trim the palm trees that block view in Ocean View rooms. Keep all 3 a la carte restaurants open daily rather than closing one each day. Repair the broken tiles in some of the pools. Add wait staff in a la carte restaurants on holidays or busy times as service was very poor on Valetine's Day at the Japanese restaurant. The weather was fabulous and overall this trip was pleasant.

Das Angebot der Restaurants ist sehr abwechslungsreich ( hervorheben möchte ich hier das 'Kyoto' ein fantastischer Japaner und den Mexikaner - beide sehr lecker!)

    “Bringen Sie Ihr eigenes Essen und Getränke sowie Sahne für den KAFFEE mit”

    März 2008 Britische und amerikanische Mitglieder bei Tripadvisor KEINE QUALITÄT Unsere erste „Alles Inklusive“-Reise, für die wir uns nur entschieden hatten, weil es ein Direktflug von Edmonton, AB, Kanada, nach Manzanillo und eine Last-Minute-Reise (wir sind neu in Kanada und hatten nicht viel Zeit zu planen) war. Essen und Getränke sind miserabel – es war NICHT möglich, eine Tasse anständigen Kaffees zu bekommen. Glücklicherweise konnte man in 20 Minuten zu einem neuen Wal-Mart (komplett mit bewaffnetem Wachmann mit einem Gewehr Kaliber 12 statt der üblichen Empfangsperson) laufen, wo es ein tolles Café gab. Wenn Sie ALLERDINGS Sahne in Ihrem Kaffee haben möchten, BRINGEN Sie Ihre eigene mit –NIRGENDWO gibt es frische Sahne ... nicht einmal im Hotel. Die Cocktails wurden mit billigen Mixern zubereitet und es gab nicht einmal Corona. Ich war gespannt auf den riesigen Flohmarkt am Samstag, wo ich Ausschau nach Silberschmuck halten wollte. An jedem Stand gab es aber den gleichen Silberschmuck und er wurde nach Gewicht verkauft und alle Verkäufer hatten so etwa den gleichen Preis – kein gutes Silber (Ware, wie sie in US-Kaufhäusern angeboten wird). Wir machten die Sonnenuntergang-Bootsfahrt mit, die IN ORDNUNG war - der Führer, ein junger Mann, machte dauernd Witze und bat um Trinkgeld - das ging so die ganzen zwei Stunden lang und die Fahrt kostete rund 80$ für zwei Personen. NIEMAND ging zum Strand außerhalb des Hotelgeländes, nicht mal zum Sonnenbaden – die meisten Gäste saßen den ganzen Tag am Pool. Unser Zimmer wäre perfekt gewesen, wenn das Badezimmer besser gepflegt worden wäre, schlechter Zustand - Schimmel um die Dusche – man hätte es wirklich gründlich reinigen müssen. Ansonsten war das Zimmer in Ordnung und bot einen tollen Blick aufs Meer. Das Personal ist nett, aber sehr träge, und jeder hält die Hand auf, um für seine Arbeit ein Trinkgeld zu bekommen. Das ging einem schnell auf die Nerven. Wir baten das Hauspersonal immer wieder um Bademäntel in unseren Größen und als die Managerin kam, musste ich ihr neben dem Zimmermädchen ebenfalls Trinkgeld geben, nur damit sie das tat, was sie eigentlich im Rahmen ihrer normalen Tätigkeit tun müsste. Das Hotel hat Potenzial, aber bei der Einstellung der Einheimischen und der Kundschaft wird wohl nichts daraus. Wir werden NICHT wieder dort absteigen.
