Located in The Orient Jakarta, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, Sanjiva Jakarta is a contemporary dining destination of Indonesian cuisine that revives forgotten flavours of the Nusantara archipelago and its cultural heritage through modern culinary experiences grounded in Indonesian culture and the art of storytelling. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word Sañjīva (सञ्जीव), which means "to give life again" or "revitalisation".

Sanjiva captures the essence of Indonesian cuisine by reinterpreting ancestral recipes, indigenous spices, and culinary traditions through a contemporary, sophisticated lens. In a country made up of thousands of islands, each with its own gastronomic legacy, the wealth of flavours, rituals, and knowledge passed down from generation to generation constitutes a unique cultural heritage. However, with the passage of time, many of these traditions have been forgotten.
Born with the will to preserve and breathe new life into this precious legacy, Sanjiva transforms Indonesia's culinary memory into a current, vibrant proposal, conceived not as an exercise in nostalgia but as a celebration of a living culture in constant evolution. Its inspiration comes from the traditional cuisines of the archipelago, the historic spice routes, inherited family recipes, ancestral techniques, local markets and ceremonial feasts that have shaped the country's gastronomic identity.
Each creation pays homage to its origins, respecting the craftsmanship and know-how that make it possible, while presenting them with elegance and creativity. Located in The Orient Jakarta, Sanjiva embodies the spirit of contemporary Indonesia: diverse, authentic, proud of its roots, and open to the world.
