    “DO NOT GO HERE”

Overall we loved Huatulco, the location, weather, beach. But 11 of the 12 of our group got violently ill. A dr had to be called and we didn't think we would make our flight home. Immediately after we ate lunch at the Tortuga restaurant. They are short staffed and the cooks are scrambling to keep up.

    “Excellent Resort!”

We had a fantastic time at Barcelo Huatulco. This was our first time going to Mexico and chose Huatulco as we know many people that go there and absolutely love it. It was a beautiful resort (just the right size), perfect for relaxing. The service was fantastic and the food was very good.

    “Excellent Service and Stay”

We had a fabulous time and highly recommend this hotel and this area. Great family holiday. Lovely people and beautiful country. Look for Fernado serving by the pool. The Premium upgrade is worth every cent!

    “A Resort For Everyone.”

Came here with my family in a group of 9. What a beautiful resort. We elected to upgrade to the premium package while booking which was about $100 cdn and was worth every cent. Once we arrived we were whisked into the premium lounge where we were greeted with cocktails of our choice while we checked in. No waiting in the line at the front desk. Although in all fairness they did move fairly quick for the guests waiting. Every need was attended to for our entire visit by the premium lounge attendees. Flor Mtz who worked the desk was absolutely amazing. Any questions or concerns were dealt with immediately. The bar server Octavo Mijangos was equally amazing it was only one day and he knew every drink we had ordered and asked which we would prefer. Both very professional and courteous. The resort itself had several a la cart restaurants and two grand buffets with the food always fresh. They have something for everyone truly from babies to the elderly. The pools were great with lots of activity from volleyball to basketball and even water-polo. The swim up pool bar is a must. While laying pool side one server that has to be mentioned is Saul (hope the spelling is correct) this man was unbelievable to say the least! Fast and right on point every time not to mention funny. Down at the beach the water is stunning and there is so many things to do that one week wasn't really enough. The premium package also came with an ocean front view room which was breathtaking. We watched the sunrise almost everyday. We took a cab into town one afternoon for the markets. People friendly and willing to negotiate a price for goods. Everyone was very friendly and receptive no matter where we went. It truly was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this resort to everyone. The only downside which is not controlled by the resort is our flight from Sunwing was delayed 6 hrs. at the last minute. Something which happens more often than not with this airline.

    “BRING BUG SPRAY ”

Things have changed alot since our last visit, not many for the good. The food was good, rooms were ok and thats it. If your looking for quiet time around the pool this is the place. As far as pool activities there are none. Samba lessons and water aerobics in the morning, nothing in the afternoon with little or no enthusiasm from the activity team. For the kids, I didn't know that they had a kids club until the third day here, again with little enthusiasm from the team. The playground has been let go with most of it taped off. Nightly entertainment is the same thing every night, same group same songs very boring. The big thing is the bugs, I (as a rule) rarely get bitten but this my wife, daughter inlaw, and from what I saw alot of the guests with red spots up and down there legs. There extremely itchy, its not mosquitoes I'm told sand flees but bring the spray.
