    “Highly Recommended”

I loved everything about our stay at the Barceló Gran Faro! Staff went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The activity guy Angel even made it his mission to remember the guests names and get everyone participating in activities. The food was delicious and there was a different variety every night with their daily themes. You could tell that they took pride in the presentation of their food. All day every day you could find staff cleaning, whether it was moping the wet/sandy halls from beach goers or literally sweeping all leaves from the flower beds. The place stayed spotless! I highly recommend staying at the Barceló Gran Faro.

    “Great stay!”

I stayed at Barcelo for 3 nights and everything exceeded my expectations. The all inclusive plan is the way to go because every meal and drink was covered for the duration of my trip. Check out the sky bar at sunset to see a picturesque view of the ocean and the city. The staff was friendly and very attentive! My room was cleaned every day, the mini fridge was always stocked, and you couldn't beat the view from the infinity pool. I enjoyed staying here for my 4th of July break. Highly recommend!

    “A great family value, because...”

This resort is underappreciated in a lot of the reviews. Are travel agent even tried to talk it out of it in favor of larger chain properties. This property has gone through a massive renovation. You can see the effort that they put into it. Fortunately while we were there, 1/3 of the rooms were being redone. That meant no lines and lots of availability. While I would classified it as a micro resort do to its size, given the price it offers a lot. Any size resort you can really get to know some of the other gas the route the week which is nice. All of the stucco on the buildings was recently reworked, fresh paint in most areas, impeccable grounds and little deferred maintenance. The furniture and amenities in the room were nothing spectacular, however everything was in great shape & working order. Almost all rooms have a great view. There is plenty of pool space and wonderful poolside service. We rarely waited for staff even when we are on the beach lounging. If you're traveling with children you may find the kids camp lacking. Twice when we went down to pick them up they were merely coloring, watching TV or painting. There is a small pool in the kids area along with a swingset that looks like something from a backyard. The entire area is not air conditioned. The kids rated it a 7. Like a lot of the beach area in Cabo the water is not for swimming. In fact there was a rescue of an adolescent that spent 45 minutes trying to swim back to shore. While everyone looked on from sure finally a U.S. serviceman went in after and retrieved him safely. The food was just okay at the grill by the pool like a lot of resorts. The restaurant seafood was surprisingly good. The restaurant service, even at the buffet restaurant, was amazing. The value you receive will depend upon what you pay. At the time of our booking it was thousands cheaper than some of the bigger, nicer resorts but represented a fantastic value where we could use the difference to do things off resort. This resort has a lot of bookings from native Mexicans which we really enjoyed as it really feels like you're in another country. I always want to go where the locals go as they know best typically.
