    “Family fun”

Great place to stay with a big family. Delicious food and lots of options from breakfast buffets to a la carte fine dining. Nice and clean pools with lots of sunbeds. Beautiful beach with gorgeous white sand. Wifi very expensive I was very surprised it wasnt free.

    “Barcelo Beach”

Great facilities, extraordinary staff that genuinely worked hard to make you feel welcome. Staff went above and beyond to make the vacation a 1st class experience. Excursions on sight were reasonably priced and kept me and my family entertained. I always felt safe on the confines

    “Just ok”

The good: Very clean updated rooms pools and grounds very clean. The staff was also very friendly. The restaurants you can book are very good actually amazing compared to other options. The not so good: The beach is a mess and smells due to all the seaweed that has washed up. the food is very poor for what we paid. The buffet is gross we ate breakfast and lunch and several dinners in the main dining room buffet style. The food was always cold and repeated at other times ribs at dinner you will find them the next day breakfast and lunch still cold. Other thoughts we paid for the water park and Dolphin park the kids loved both and were a good value. Bring tons of sunscreen they only sell one brand and hit you hard $30 for one small bottle. For the size and premium feel the resort has the check-in and out is right out of the 40s tons of paper photocopying we had a resort credit that was way more difficult to use and apply about a 30min checkout.

    “Lovely holiday”

Lovely resort. Big - but in a good way, which is not often the case. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Lots to do. Good food. Shows at night not our cup of tea. Good location for day trips in the south of the coast.

“This resort owes our Family $1400.00”

Prior to leaving for the trip, the resort was unable to confirm our reservation. To our knowledge we had no trip reserved, and the original planned trip was not made. We learned after the scheduled time of the trip that we were charged in full for a 4 nights stay, despite never staying at the resort. Many, upon many calls and emails ensued for refund of a trip never taken with Armando Becerra Montiel, Director of Barceló Maya Grand Resort. It was made clear that identifying the reservation was difficult due to their limited verification process, and claimed no fault in the inability of the confirmation. Concessions were finally offered, however very unsatisfactory limited terms and at a fraction of our loss. I would never recommend this resort or any other owned by this managing company.
