    “Good vacation overall”

    Stayed a week in Barcelo Maya Beach. Building very noisy all night from guest getting in. We ask to change room and had no problem. We were on the second floor. Woke up a few time from a couple walking upstrairs and talkling. Stay on top floor. No wifi in the rooms, just at La Cantina at Tropical but we didnt mind that, it make us not look at our phone the whole trip. A lot of families with kids, seems more of a family place. Food was good, a lot of options. Probably gained 5 pounds. Beach was a little hard some places. Water was clear and sand all in the water. We snorkled and saw lots of fish and turtles(highligh). Pools were empty so we spent most of our time at the beach. The whole facility seemed to be empty on the weekdays. Nobody in the lobbies or bars. The buffet were empty also, they closed some buffets. It was cold in the mornings and evening, probably time of year. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Rooms were super clean, fridge was filled every day with Coronas, juice, pop. Beautiful complex. We would recommend this resort.

    “Worst Customer Service”

    Very poor costumer service, huge lack of friendliness across the board. Assigned us a room which was already assigned to another guest. Took over an hour to fix the problem and never received an apology. Booking a reservation for a speciality dinner restaurant is near impossible and caused stress over the span of our stay. No bathroom fans, mold throughout bathroom. Staff were miserable up until the minute of check out. We all have stayed in Mexico at different all-inclusive resorts and we all would highly recommend AVOIDING BARCELO MAYA all together.

    “Will not book with Barcelo again”

    We just returned from a week at Barcelo Maya Beach. The overall resort is beautiful and has a lot to offer; however, there were several little things that added up to our decision not to return. With the exception of one night when we had dinner at the buffet at Tropical rather than Beach, our food was always cold. Our safe wasn't working when we arrived...in fact it wasn't even secured to the closet. It took two days and two phone calls before they brought us a new one. We had a Family Suite, and the tv in the living room wasn't working properly. That also took 2 calls to resolve. Not once did the maid replace the linens properly in the bathroom. Only 2 days did we have a bath mat. As I stated earlier, we were in a Family Suite. There were 2 washcloths. There should have been a minimum of 3, and most days they didn't replace any. We weren't given toilet paper the last 2 days. We used the decaf coffee, and it was replaced with regular. We never got decaf again. The hall lighting must be on a timer, but it turns on too late. It's very dark and unsafe without the lights on. None of these things ruined our vacation by any means, but we will go back to Iberostar. They seem to know how to take care of their guests much better!

    “Great service but some things need work”

    Beautiful resort and impeccable service. However, taking away two stars because of the food and rooms. The food at the buffet was pretty bland and definitely did not have enough vegetarian options which was troublesome for my husband who is vegetarian. Also the rooms were dated and need some upgrade. Overall our experience was not bad at all thanks to the amazing staff at the resort.
