    “Last minute getaway!”

My husband and I took off with 3 days notice and spent a week at this resort. It’s a HUGE property shared with several other Barcelo resorts. With that said.... it doesn’t feel overwhelming and it’s easy to get around. The staff are very friendly and work hard to make your stay pleasant. There is a double-decker bus that runs between all the properties if you choose to explore the whole area or simply get from one resort to another. The walk itself is very short (maybe 5 minutes??) and doesn’t pose an issue. We especially loved the air conditioned lobby bar at the resort next door to the Tropical and the open air lobby bar at the Maya Caribe. Sergio was our bartender on most evenings and he does a fantastic job at the Caribe bar. He takes great pride in his job and works hard. The air conditioned sports bar (Strikers) is also a nice bar with friendly bartenders who remember your drinks from previous nights. Property is very well maintained. All we can say is that if you’re bored at this combination of Barcelo properties.... it’s your own fault! We got a great value and intend to return in the future.

    “Would Go Back Every Year!”

This was my second time at the resort and I love it just as much as the first. We have stayed at the Tropical both times. Love the rooms, pools, bars and restaurants. And, make sure you visit Xel-Ha. Awesome resort!

“Barcelo Maya Tropical All-Inclusive Trip May 2019”

This resort is absolutely astonishing. The people such as waiters, bartenders, housekeepers, outside keeping, reception, and any other staff members overall provided a comforting environment where you could really see the amount of dedication and effort they put towards assuring that the stay of their visitors are smooth and phenomenal. The cuisine is just tasty with a variety of restaurants to make a reservation at, which I recommend you do the day you arrive, such as Kyoto that not only serve a great meal but a perfect experience like their hibachi chefs. There is so much to be involved with at the resort like volleyball tournaments, kids club, spectacular shows every night at the Palenque Theater, water polo, dolphins, and many more other attractions. The water is perfectly clean and so clear that you are able to see the fish swimming beside you. The nature surrounding you as you walk and the beautiful chirps by the birds really resonate with you and makes you at peace. There are little to none vendors on the beach and if they are they are to sure make a use of your time. Visit Barcelo as it is an amazing resort that deserves all the visitors it may receive and truly gives your family an experience they will never forget., it actually is not so crowded when you're walking towards sunset timing it is calm and not bombarded with people.

    “Tropical Paradise ”

Our annual family vacation took us to Maya Riviera this time. After looking at various resorts, we decided to stay at the Barceló Tropical. The resort is actually 5 hotels with access to all except the Palace (unless you stay at the Palace, which gives you access to all). The place has everything a mega resort needs to keep a family busy. The front desk personnel are great and very welcoming without the pushy sales tactics we’ve experienced in Can Cun and Playa. Our room was standard with a mini bar stocked as needed. Beverages were good including corona beer and Pepsi (no Coke). The snacks were mostly Japanese peanuts though one night it was stocked with Lays chips. The food was what could be expected from an all inclusive resort. Breakfast had lots of fruit choices as well eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. We didn’t try any of the specialty restaurants since I didn’t bring pants or dress shirts ( I’m on vacation) but didn’t have any regrets. Every night was a different theme at the buffet. Marco Sanchez was great and took wonderful care of us at the buffet. The place has a mall and market for all your souvenir shopping. The best part is you can charge things to your room, unlike some resorts we’ve stayed at. We tried out the Spa and had great massages. Well worth the price. If you book through Travelocity, ask your contact about the deals that come with booking with them: 40% off 1 spa service; 3 for the price of 2 dolphin swim; complimentary shopping tour to Playa. The beach wasn’t as nice as Cozumel and the resort was out clearing the seaweed every morning. The only negative is that we felt isolated and really craved non resort food toward the end of our week stay. Overall, a nice complex, no complaints and worth the price we paid.
