    “Modern designed Pop art hotel”

Excellent environment in all the areas of the hotel!!! Away from the city center but easy access with the tram Nr12 (ticket cost 1,5€), (last tram line 10:30 pm). Taxi costs of about 20€ to drive you to the historical center. Ideal for business men (exhibition area) Disadvantage: no hangers close to the shower, only one toothbrush kit and one face towel in a double bed room....

Looks nice fairly cheap. Location is terrible tho. Shower u have to be very friendly with your roommate as it doesn't have a door ( looms nice tho ) My problem is with the reception and how they ripe you off. They make you pay cash ( for some €5 per night city tax ) but then they bill you on your card as well ( got overcharged 35€ on my card after I was asked to pay cash at reception) Im trying to get to a complain department ( they dont have one )

Dear Guest, We are really sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the experience in our hotel to the fullest as we strive to make each stay with us an unforgettable one. Discussions involving the respective team members and management have taken place to review your comments, and we would like to assure you that all of your concerns will be addressed and attended to. We have read your comments on the room we have accommodated you in and sincerely regret your disappointment on the layout of your room and encourage you for a future holiday planning to visit our website where you will find a thorough description of our hotels' rooms and facilities to make sure you book the one that best meets your holiday needs and wishes. It is also with great concern that we have read your comments on our réception team as it is renowned in the hospitality industry that the first 10 minutes at the reception and the last 10 upon check out contribute greatly to the reputation of a hotel; please be assured that your comments have been shared with the Guest Experience Manager to make the appropriate adjustments in the areas you mentioned. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Kind Regards, Pedro Cordón General Manager

    “Contemporary hotel ”

This hotel is quite nice, four star and modern. Our room was massive! It was on the fourth floor at the end of the hall and was very comfortable to sleep in. The room was connected to a living area and we had a little kitchenette. The living area was very spacious. We really was not expecting that. If you're not into modern/ikea-est furnishings, this hotel isn't for you. They even provide you with a smart phone- 'handy' which is loaned to you for your stay. Our wasn't charging but they offered- we didn't need it. The bath/shower is in your bedroom, literally with a translucent glass so your modesty is preserved :-). The toilet is also en suite but you have a mirrored door to separate. We liked it... Breakfast was mediocre with not much to chose from at 10 euros. Quite limited. The spa, very nice and fits with the modern theme. Jacuzzi seemed to be a little troublesome as the bubbling effect was weak and last for roughly 2-3 mins and was managed by a button. The staff spoke English and were helpful, just remember to bring an adapter as we couldn't get one to hire. The hotel is positioned out of the way but if you make use of the hotel shuttle to the local metro, you're good to go. The 22nd roof terrace also is a beautiful view- shame it hasn't been utilised at all.

“A leap into the future and a dive into wellness”

I had the pleasure to stay for a weekend at Barcelò Milan. I was a bit skeptical given some of the conflicting reviews but can happily say that I feel many people try to find or perhaps even invent problems that do not exist. I had booked my stay a month in advance, it was a gift to myself to relax and enjoy some pampering at a wellness centre. I called in advance to ask some questions and my questions were all answered with courtesy. I called again a week ahead of time given that I had read the parking was hard to find and also regarding wellness hours and all hotel questions were answered and I was passed to the wellness centre where, again, all of my questions were answered. Upon arrival check-in was very fast, courteous and I was made to feel at home. All of the necessary information was supplied as well as room keys. When I entered the room I found two 1 lt complementary bottles of water and macarons, there was also a coffee maker with capsules that were at no extra cost. The coffee maker was not working properly and somebody came up within 5 minutes, fixed it and left extra capsules. I had asked for extra towels and again, they were brought to me in less than 5 minutes with a smile. The room was absolutely amazing and futuristic, the shower in the middle of the room as well as large sink area were a real treat. The window wall looking over the Expo 2015 area of the city was absolutely fabulous. Suggestive lighting also made the atmosphere very relaxing. Many people had complained that the room was cold, it was when we arrived but the air conditioning is autonomous so I raised temperature and fan and within a few minutes the room was very comfy,I regulated it again and never touched it for the entire stay, the room remained at the desired temperature. There was also no noise from other rooms or much else, very quiet. If I have to find something that I did not like it would be the mattress which was much too hard (perhaps because I have a memory foam at home) and I found the television and fridge very small, not much room for a bottle of champagne or anything else. However, these things are really trivial. The hotel is equipped with many elevators and the wonderful thing is you have to choose from the outside which floor you are going to, this avoids people playing with the elevator and sending it to all floors. Never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator and I used it lots! The elevators are lovely, not too bright and all mirrors. On the 22nd floor there is a terrace that goes around the entire hotel, the view of Milan is spectacular, it is possible to see the mountains on one side, the Unicredit building and central Milan, san siro stadium and the Expo 2015 area. If you stay on a weekend during the summer around 9.30 p.m. it is possible to catch the Expo Tree of Life light show, which is an absolute treat. The Wellness Centre was very well equipped and clean. It was "supervised" by staff making sure there was always water, tea, dried fruits on hand, these were all complimentary, there was a choice of over 20 teas. Bathrobes and towels are all complimentary as well. I also had a full facial and there were all sorts of massages offered at the same price as in most of the Milan area. Perhaps it was just the period but would have been nice to have more than one person giving massages and treatments and there was no offer or opportunity for a couples massage. Again, small details that did not change my satisfaction of the services offered. I did not use it but saw a beautifully equipped gym area. The breakfast buffet, Wow! One of the largest I have seen in a hotel. The choice of Italian and continental foods was never ending. The buffet was never empty, the staff was constantly refilling. Coffee is served and there was a bit of a wait but that is to be expected. Quality of food excellent. There were no elevator issues and I arrived at the breakfast area very quickly. The hotel could improve the breakfast box for those who have to check out early and have paid breakfast perhaps by allowing guests to choose from the buffet a few items they wish to take with them, the breakfast box was not worth even half of what I paid for breakfast. I ate at the restaurant on my last evening and the food was very good and the portions were more than generous, I could not finish mine. There is a large selection of craft beers and tables are comfortable and spacious. The prices were much too high though, I understand it is contracted and not managed by the hotel, which could offer some sort of coupon to get a discount. Hopefully the restaurant has its own venue and I will review it separately. Check out was rapid and with smiles even at 6 am in the morning. The parking area was not hard to find, it was well marked and spacious, no problem parking even with a larger car. I found a spot right outside the door and was perfect. The cost of parking was fair, in line with hotels in general, there is this new trend worldwide that hotels no longer offer parking with your stay so was not surprised. All around I highly recommend this hotel and also advise people to read between the lines, waiting 5 minutes at a hotel reception can happen, so can small mishaps, take a look at other reviews and get a feel for what kind of reviewer the person is. Thanks Barcelò Milan for a memorable weekend, looking forward to my next stay!
