Description
The Sella River Descent is an activity that does not require previous experience or navigation skills. However, it is essential to know how to swim in case of an unexpected dip, as this is a water-based activity.
The Sella River Canoe Descent from Arriondas is the most famous adventure and active tourism activity in Asturias. It is a fun excursion along the Sella River, between Arriondas—near the Picos de Europa—and Llovio (a village just before Ribadesella). It is a very easy activity that you can enjoy with friends, as a couple, or with children. All you need is the ability to swim and an adventurous spirit.
We offer premium self-bailing, anti-tip canoes with 1, 2, or 3 seats, with the option to add a padded backrest so you can enjoy the descent of the Sella River in maximum comfort. Along the route, you will find several riverside bars where you can rest and have a refreshment, river beaches where you can stop for lunch, and pools where you can swim.
Starting Point
-Our starting point is strategically located at the Arriondas Bridge, where the International Sella River Descent begins—the classic starting spot to enjoy the full Sella Festival atmosphere.
Route Options
-Two routes available: SHORT and LONG.
-You can choose between a medium route of approximately 8 km or a longer route of about 15 km ending in Llovio (Ribadesella).
