Discover the fun of surfing for kids and families on white-sand beaches with gentle waves—perfect conditions for both children and adults to enjoy surfing together.
Our lessons in shallow water are ideal for children and teenagers to start surfing in a fun and engaging way. It is also a fantastic experience for the whole family when parents and kids surf side by side.
Our instructors are constantly amazed at how quickly children learn naturally. Seeing their excitement and joy when catching a wave is almost as rewarding as surfing itself. We have a team of instructors who speak German, English, and Spanish, and we work with small groups to ensure that the youngest learners receive the support and personalized attention they need. The instructors help children carry their boards, choose the right waves, and gently push them into the surf, offering feedback and constant encouragement.
To ensure safety and comfort, our instructors stay with the children at all times, and classes take place on beaches with sandy bottoms, mild currents, and gentle waves. Kids use soft-top foam surfboards and full-length wetsuits, which protect them not only from the cold but also from the sun. Children under 12 years old are also provided with a lightweight surf helmet with a soft neoprene covering.
Upon arriving at the beach, the instructors explain how to use the surf equipment, the characteristics of the waves, currents, and all safety rules. After a brief theoretical introduction, children practice the basic movements on the sand. The instructor demonstrates the correct stance on the board and the movement needed to stand up, known as the “take off.” This method ensures that children build confidence and feel safe in the water from the very beginning, learn how to choose the right waves, and improve their surfing technique.
The goal is for everyone to enjoy themselves and learn at the same time.
What should you know before you go?
- Once you have completed your booking, we will contact you by phone or email to confirm the starting time, as it depends on the tides, the wind, and sea conditions.
- It is essential to know how to swim and to be over 7 years old.
- We choose the best beach for our families based on the tides, weather, wind, and wave size. The beaches we use are located on the east, west, and south coasts of the island. Depending on the beach selected, the drive may take between 5 and 25 minutes each way.
Including transfers, you will be away from the hotel for approximately 4.5 hours before returning.
What to bring?
- Swimwear, towel, sunscreen, and water.
- We recommend bringing some snacks.
