Discover one of the oldest geological sites in the Canary Islands on this hiking route through the Ajuy Caves Natural Monument, located on the west coast of Fuerteventura.
The excursion begins with pick-up in Caleta de Fuste and transfer to Ajuy. From there, you will set off on an approximately 6-kilometre coastal walk along a trail that runs beside impressive cliffs until reaching the Arco del Jurado, a striking geological formation of great scenic value. In this area, fossils over 150 million years old can be observed, bearing witness to the island’s submarine origins.
After the hike, the route returns to the picturesque fishing village of Ajuy, known for its black volcanic sand beach and open views of the Atlantic Ocean. The experience continues with a tapas-style dinner before the transfer back to your hotel. The activity lasts approximately 4 hours and is recommended for participants accustomed to walking and in good physical condition.
A rewarding combination of hiking, geology and coastal scenery in a protected natural setting.
