Discover the volcanic landscapes of northern Fuerteventura on a hiking route through Calderón Hondo, an accessible experience suitable for different fitness levels.
The excursion begins in the village of Lajares, the starting point for walking among lava flows and terrain shaped by ancient eruptions. The route continues along the slopes of Montaña Colorada, where its crater can be observed, before gradually ascending towards the summit of Calderón Hondo.
After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of ascent, you will reach the crater rim at 278 metres above sea level. From this natural viewpoint, enjoy wide-open views across the north coast of Fuerteventura and, on clear days, towards the island of Lanzarote.
The itinerary continues with the descent and transfer to the small coastal village of Majanicho, where you will take a relaxed walk to explore its traditional surroundings. The tour then visits the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park for a short stroll and time for photographs.
The experience concludes at the well-known Popcorn Beach, famous for its unique sand formations resembling small pieces of popcorn, creating one of the island’s most distinctive landscapes.
Over approximately 6 hours, you will combine hiking, volcanic panoramas and coastal highlights in a comprehensive exploration of northern Fuerteventura.
