Description
Step into a night where science, nature, and wonder meet. At Finca Astronómica in Cartagena, we invite you to disconnect from city lights and experience the universe as few ever do — through professional telescopes, guided talks, and live astrophotography in an authentic rural setting.
Each Astronomy Night combines education, relaxation, and discovery. Guests enjoy free time to explore the finca and its animals, share dinner under the open sky, gather by the bonfire with marshmallows, and then take part in a complete astronomical program — including laser-guided constellation tours, optical and robotic telescope observations, live astrophotography streamed to a screen, and big-screen astronomical presentations.
This specific experience is relaxed and educational, welcoming curious minds of all ages. Astronomy Night is also offered in group formats: • Adults-Only Nights (Fridays) – calm, atmospheric evenings for guests 18+. • Family Astronomy Nights (Saturday) – fun and educational, suitable for all ages and curiosity level.
Optional overnight stays in glamping pods or yurts are available for those who wish to extend the experience. Wake up surrounded by silence, sunrise colours, and the lingering memory of the stars.
Whether you come as a family, a couple, or a group of friends, every visit offers something different — the night sky itself never repeats.

1. Arrival and Free Time at Finca Astronómica
Begin your evening surrounded by the peace of rural Cartagena. Stroll through our eco-friendly finca, meet the animals, explore the gardens, or simply enjoy a drink and relax under the changing colours of sunset. This is the time to disconnect from city life and let your eyes adjust to the coming night.
2. Dinner – Open Buffet Under the Sky
As the sky darkens, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner served in open-air buffet style. Local flavours, seasonal ingredients, and a relaxed rural atmosphere make this the perfect moment to share stories before the stars take over. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notice.
3. Astronomy Talk
Our astronomer introduces you to the wonders of the universe with an engaging talk tailored to the night’s sky. Discover celestial highlights, learn how telescopes work, and prepare for the stargazing session ahead. No previous knowledge required — curiosity is enough.
4. Bonfire and Marshmallows
Gather around the bonfire for a cozy break between the talk and observations. Roast marshmallows, enjoy a drink, and let the night settle in as the Milky Way begins to appear overhead. Children love this moment — adults too.
5. Guided Astronomical Observations
The highlight of the evening — a guided, multi-format journey through the cosmos. The program includes: • Laser presentation of constellations, identifying stars and celestial features across the sky. • Optical and robotic telescope observations, offering both visual and automated views of celestial objects. • Live astrophotography, streamed in real time to a regular screen for close-up viewing of planets and deep-sky objects. • Big-screen presentation, featuring astrophotography, astronomical visualizations, and live content when conditions allow.
All elements are subject to astronomical availability and meteorological conditions on the day of your visit.
6. Time to enjoy bonfire, ask questions, enjoy the night sky
After the astronomical program is finished, the astronomers are available for extra questions. It's a perfect time to enjoy company of fellow stargazers, bonfire, drinks, and engaging conversations under Spanish starry sky.
