    “Fantastic first family holiday”

First time we took our children abroad. The hotel had entertainment all the time and put children did not want to leave. The food was amazing and can not fault the staff. The only downfall was the air conditioning in the room was not very good.

“A lovely stay at Allegro Isora”

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room was of a good size with aircon that worked well. Whilst the unit was in the main living area with the bedroom door open we were cool enough in the bedroom. The food offered decent variety with Canarian and Spanish options. The paella cooked at the pool bar on the Saturday lunchtime was brilliant. Over the course of a week there was different food every day. Of course there was repetition in the salad, pasta and dessert sections but that is to be expected. Some people complained about the queues for the bars in other reviews and whilst at peak times there was a queue this is just like any busy pub. All inclusive have an extra bar area that is reserved for them or they can use the normal bar as well. The pool bar is also often open in the evening and I never had to queue here. During the day there is a self service tap for beer, soft drinks, slushies, water, tea and coffee machine and sometimes Sangria or you can use the pool bar for other options. Tenerife is a hilly place and the hotel is on a slope. There seemed to always be alternative access wherever there were stairs but I can't really comment on this as we didn't have a wheelchair user or need to use a buggy. My kids used the pools everyday and loved them. They had several lifeguards on site and the slide was always manned by a lifeguard during its opening hours. The beach at Playa de la Arena is walkable but if you have toddlers or can't face the walk there is a bus stop by the hotel. The beach is clean and lifeguard manned. I liked that there was a wide range of nationalities staying at the hotel and not just Brits. This hotel would be good for younger families, I don't think there is enough for older teens and Playa de la Arena is not full of bars and nightclubs...although there are some. Perfect for us.

“Overall happy and relaxed lots to do and safe environment for children”

Like most people I read the reviews before booking. However I think some are unfair with the hotel they are some areas and some area maybe have had quick jobs so not to upset guest. These are nothing major and didn't effect our stay in anyway as staff work very hard to please every guest. There is a little language barrier but if you only want to speak your own language you may be better off stay somewhere you have your own language 😊 One thing I will say they are working a new children's area which looked fabulous, this is new to the hotel and will be a great place as next to the children's pool and padding pool. The middle pool is active and noisy/motivated with aqua aerobics, pool bubble party and much more. Last at the top is calmer with a 5&7 year olds Although my girls didn't use the kids club it was great as other guest children did great activities.

    “OK but wouldn't return.”

Just returned from a 7 night all inclusive stay with our 2 young children. We arrived in the early hours. Checked in but struggled to find our room in the dark. Rooms are a good size and clean but bathroom in need of a deep clean. Bath and toilet very stained. Cleaner came in every day. Towels changed frequently but bed linen not changed during our stay. I accept it is very hot and lots of little ants were in the bathroom and on the breakfast bar so perhaps more frequent spraying would get rid of them. Hotel is very busy and be prepared to queue. Food and drinks are good and staff very polite and helpful. We ate at 1pm and 7pm and on leaving there was always a big queue waiting outside. Our boys like to be outdoors so in a evening we liked to sit at the snack bar. We then learned that 3 nights per week the snack bar is closed as it serves al-la-carte to guests who have booked. That left only the upstairs bar and the queues were long! I will add that the al-la-carte served around 20 guests so the remainder of guests (around 500) had 1 bar to use. My husband spoke to manager on one of the evenings and she agreed to get more staff on the bar to deal with the queue (he had waited approx 20 mins to be served with 2 children in tow). My children are non swimmers and we needed to be near the paddling pool which was the furthest away. It was a trek to go and get drinks from the snack bar and no trays available so difficult to carry 4 drinks back. We managed to get beds near the little pool because my husband would go down and wait whilst I took the children for breakfast. Staff were beginning to be pro active whilst we there and attached notices to the beds to say no reserving before 10. We witnessed foreign guests taking umbrella's when people went for a drink etc and 1 day 2 guests were literally playing tug a war with an umbrella!! To improve this hotel it needs a self serve bar at the bottom pool so parents don't have to trek with children for drinks and a shallow pool on each level. More sunbeds/umbrella's are needed and more bar staff are needed during the evening. We didn't use the kids club or join in with the animation so can't comment. We requested to keep our room until 4p.m on departure but couldn't s hotel full. After discussion we got a room and had to move everything to another level. We felt 75 Euros was steep but with 2 young children it was a must. With a few improvements this could be a great hotel but we wouldn't return. However, I would like to end by saying the staff work so so hard and we met some great families and made the best out of what was available.
