    “Occidental caribe”

    The resort is on an amazing beach. The value for the money is excellent. The food is very good. Really nice for the price. Pool is awesome and redone this year. Casino is small and many machines aren’t working. The girls if you win remind you they should get some. Including the cashier

    “Honeymoon”

    Good for the price but there is way for improvement.The staff didn't assist at all if you do not speak Spanish. For example, nobody server us coffe all mornings during our stay.Internet is not free compared to other hotels.

    “Family/Friend Vacation”

    Spent the week with family and friends at the Occidental Caribe. The staff was great. They were all very polite and tried their best to satisfy everyone. The food was good, but not great. The rooms didn't get tidied up until the afternoon and the mini-bar was almost never stocked (except when we complained about it). Overall, a nice place to stay and enjoy the beach and weather.

    “What makes this place shine...”

    Went to this hotel between October 11th to the 18th we were in room 6411 with an awesome view. I would say that the bad reviews are not really exact. I will admit that the hotel is showing its age and would eventually need an upgrade. What made this trip so wonderful was the extraordinary staff always there for you. When we first arrived we were offered Juice and was served by a very delightful and bubbly front desk clerk (Ambar) who was very attentive to our needs with a smile. She assigned us a bellman who carried our luggage's to our room which was very efficient and friendly. Our room attendant (Julia) was really wonderful, never came back to a dirty room and she really bent over backwards for us. This part is very important for management to hear since i have never seen any room attendant be so genuinely concerned for people who are just clients and this is why. On a certain day of our stay i had lost my cell phone and to top it off i could not remember were i had left it. Ran to my room and found Julia cleaning it. Seeing my worry she asked me in spanish what was happening. Since my spanish is terrible i started gesturing to my other cell phone and was saying i lost it and she seemed to understand.Now again i have never seen any room attendant do this. She got very worried about my loss and literally put my room that she had just beautifully done upside down to find my cell phone. Regretfully my phone was not there and she was very sad about it. I must say that after going to the guest service desk they made me follow a security guard that was able to give me back my phone. Went back to the floor of my room to find Julia cleaning the neighboring room and showed her that i have found my other cell phone. She was so relieved and happy that i gave her a hug since for me this woman is gold. Another wonderful employee was Ismael that i met at the quiet pool bar. He was very attentive on what we would like to drink and always served us with a smile and with jokes, with this kind of service i was always expecting to meet him at that area. If you are intending to book activities, booking with Hola Tours was awesome with our great Rep Juan. Lets not forget Rosalinda from our catamaran tour. She was the one who made the party on the boat so amazing. To rap this up, hotel old but ok and the employees really works extremely hard to please everyone. They made my trip the best one that i would return to. I would certainly go to that hotel again but would ask to be assigned were ever Julia would be.

    “Overall good experience with a few flaws”

    A good holiday. Not the best in Punta Cana, but still ok. The resort is set up well for a large hotel. The grounds are beautiful. Beach is large & clean. Pool areas are great. Never a problem finding a lounge chair. The service in the restaurants is a bit slow. They seem to forget what they're doing. They say "I'll be right back" but they don't come back. Food is ok, but quite repativive at the buffet & sometimes cold. The drinks at the bar are ok, not fabulous. I couldn't find a drink at the entire hotel that was actually frozen or slushy, which is too bad as they're my favorite. All in all, a good hotel for the money we paid. I wouldn't be happy if I'd have paid full price. But for the deal I got, it was ok.
