    “Stay at Occidental Nuevo Vallarta”

Luckily we were able to stay at this resort for the cost of a presentation promotion; otherwise we wouldn't have been happy paying full price. But, I think there's great potential for this resort with some updates to their room and better maintenance.

    “DO NOT STAY HERE”

This is by far the worst Hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It is beyond me how this resort can have this many good reviews. The Hotel is dirty, food is awful....not to mention the fact that they have all these restrictions on what’s suppose to be “All Inclusive” they advertise free WiFi but when you get there they charge $12 per day. They have absolutely no respect for your do not disturb sign. I mean is there for a reason why would u still call the room and say your sign is up can we clean your room? The curtains in our room not only were they dirty n dusty but also had a smothered dead fly. I was sitting in the lobby and there’s a huge roach just roaming around the table. I mean it was just discussing!!! On our first night we had to call house keeping at 10pm to come change our bed sheets, the sheets were wet the room had this smell like wet and humid, AC didn’t work well during the day only at night. On our first day we had no TV they said something was wrong with the signal. Walking around the hallway is unbearable they have no ac anywhere!! Getting into the elevator was torture, it was like not being able to breathe. I must say the only good thing this resort had was the employees. The whole staff is super nice very polite friendly and attentive. Absolutely no complaints as far as service.

“Jessica in the kids club at Occidental Nuevo Vallarta is excellent!”

We just got back from puerto Vallarta after staying there for 7 nights it was an amazing family vacation. Our kids loved the beach and the swimming and loved most Jessica at the kids club at Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. She was so patient with all the kids, she was able to translate everything she said into English so my kids can understand. All creative and amazing projects they did were so engaging. We even brought most of their projects and my son and daughter are so proud of their work! They wouldn’t mind spending 2-3 hours at the kids club and give up swimming, they would patiently await for the kids club to open so they can be the first ones there. Jessica is an amazing person so trustworthy and lovely smile and lovely character. Highly recommended. Your kids will be in safe and happy hands! Rasha , Peter, Raja and Sophia Love you Jessica and special thanks go to you!

    “Don’t do it!”

I honestly don’t even know where to start...I’m really wondering how is it that so may people would give this place 4, 5 stars. Like seriously...are you guys being compensative for writing good reviews? First of all they don’t offer free WiFi as it states on here and on Expedia I REPEAT! THEY DON’T OFFER FREE WIFI! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! As I’m calling Expedia in regards to the WiFi the hotel is saying I have to pay $12 a day for, we walk to our room (the room smells awful, like wet clothes) they give us a king bed room instead of the ocean view double beds that were booked. Of course the call gets disconnected with Expedia because the reception is horrible there and since we have no WiFi I have to call back about that and about the room that was given to us. They give us another room “ocean view” we move the curtains to see the view, there’s a dead smashes fly on the curtains (this is just partial view btw) the room also smells pretty bad but we’re thinking maybe that’s just the way it is cus do the heat, I don’t know. After such a long day and already having some issues at the time of checking in, we leave our luggage in the room and rush to go get some food since we were told we could only eat at the buffet (food was awful btw) even though it’s all inclusive but you have to make reservations at the other 3 restaurants and those must be done between the hours of 9-4pm. We go back to our room it’s now around 10pm, sit down on the beds and the bed sheets were wet! Yes! They’re wet! (I’m thinking this can’t be happening) We call the front desk, they sent 2 ladies in to check the sheets, of course they’re wet so they changed the sheets but didn’t have anymore blankets they said. At this point it doesn’t even matter, we had brought some fleece blankets from home so we’ll use those tonight. As they’re changing the sheets, we turn on the tv and there’s no reception, the housekeeping ladies say “oh yeah! There’s no reception now, it’s went out throughout the hotel” (Okay, great! I guess we can’t watch tv) they leave so I go get in the shower...omg! It’s like I almost needed water shoes to shower there to make sure I didn’t catch something. It was so dirty, the soup holder was dirty/rusty but anyway...I mean we had to shower. The next day... we go down stairs to make reservation for dinner cus that’s really the only way you could eat there (even though it’s all inclusive) (Or eat at the buffet which isn’t open all day either)!Step out of the elevator and what do we see? A HUGE ROACH! YES! THEY HAVE ROACHES! We keep walking and omg! These lines were ridiculous!! Front desk and the concierge where is where you need to make the rsvp for these restaurants that by the way are only open after 6. We spent the rest of the day there...I must say all the employees ALL are great! They’re very nice, they had activities at the pool and those guys were great involving the guest to play games or dance. So yes! One good thing so far, the staff! Now, we had made 2 rsvps for that night just in case we didn’t like the food at one of the restaurants since the food at the buffet is the worst I’ve ever had. Well... guess what? The food there was bad too just not as bad lol The green salads, fruit, Panela cheese and the tacos de pastor were good oh yes and the coconut pineapple ice cream too (I guess we’ll just eat that the rest of our stay here) Again...all employees were great especially at the Mexican restaurant (good thing for that, otherwise I really would have lost my mind) Also the mini fridge wasn’t fully stocked. It had 4 sodas, 4 beers, 2 small bags of peanuts and it wasn’t replenished the next day. I called Expedia to relocate cus at this point I really don’t know if we can really stay there anymore days. I mean...it’s dirty (the creaking in our room even had mold), really hot (AC either doesn’t work or they don’t have one through the hotel) (I was really afraid to be stuck in that elevator thinking we would probably suffocate in there) I must say I’m not claustrophobic but it was bad, hard to even breath in there and the hallways weren’t any better. The food was pretty bad as well so it was time to change hotels. I go to the front desk omg! There’s 2 long lines LONG with with employees at the desk. I waited 50 minutes in line trying to speak to them to get a refund for the rest of the days. My sister calls me and tell anyone me just forget it we can’t spend the rest of our vacation with Expedia or in these lines trying to speak to someone. I walk over to where she’s sitting down and she points at the table where there’s another huge roach just crawling around. Yes! I should’ve stayed in line, get a refund for the remaining of our stay and just gone somewhere else. I could keep going but I’m sure you already get the point about how bad this place is. IT’S HORRIBLE! I’m really not exaggerating like I can’t even believe it! I mean it says 4.5 stars on here how could that be? One thing I did learn about going based on reviews is start by reading all the bad ones first cus they might be right. If you book here, don’t say we didn’t warn you lol enjoy your vacation wherever it’s is that you go and stay :)
