Description
Discover Córdoba, one of the cities with the richest historical heritage in Andalusia, on this guided excursion from Seville. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Córdoba was an important city during the Roman Empire and later reached its greatest splendour as the capital of the Caliphate of Córdoba. Today it preserves an extraordinary artistic and architectural legacy that reflects the different cultures that shaped the city.
The journey begins with departure from Seville towards Córdoba. Along the way, there will be a short stop in Carmona, a picturesque Andalusian town where you can stretch your legs, enjoy a coffee or use the facilities before continuing the trip.
After approximately one hour travelling through the typical landscapes of the Andalusian countryside, characterised by vast olive groves, you will arrive in Córdoba to begin a guided walking tour through the historic centre.
During the walk you will discover some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Roman Bridge crossing the Guadalquivir River, the historic Jewish Quarter with its narrow streets full of history, the Córdoba Synagogue and the Royal Stables. You will also pass by the famous Cordoban patios, known for their colourful flowers and traditional balconies.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to enjoy lunch following your guide’s recommendations, explore the city at your own pace or do some shopping.
In the afternoon, one of the highlights of the day awaits: the visit to the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, one of the most remarkable monuments in Andalusia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This extraordinary building blends Islamic and Christian architectural elements and stands as one of the most impressive historical landmarks in Spain.
After visiting the monument, you will return to the meeting point to begin the journey back to Seville, where the excursion will come to an end.
