Nelson, hotel pastry chef
From baseball to baking
After a shoulder injury at age 18, Nelson traded his passion for baseball for baking, following his family's legacy. His mother and father were chefs and it was his father who first asked him what made him the most passionate about the culinary world. Nelson's answer was clear: baking. Little did he imagine then that this first step would lead him to become executive chef of the hotel, a path in which he had the support of his previous boss, Pedro Pérez, with whom he shares an emotional story. For Nelson, true success is the recognition at Barceló, and we couldn't be more grateful for his trust all these years.
