    “Great lush property! ”

Was a great first vacay for my family of 5. We've gone ourselves many times but the first time with the kids. It was a beautiful property and all the lush surrounds made it feel wonderful. We've stayed at other hotels and it's nice but the trees and surrounds make it feel like paradise for sure. Only down fall would be the bugs because of it. But if you make sure to wear bug spray with deet you should be ok. Food was good. They had a theme for meals each day but no matter what it was mostly the same except what the small area for the special was. My kids always ground something to eat so I was no a worry there. The rooms were good. We were in the premium level so a two bedroom. The DVD player didn't work at all, and the ac unit in the main room was loud. Also we had to find our own water for the room a lot of the time because they didn't restock that for some reason. Other then that we were there for 10 days and it was a comfortable stay and enjoyed the pools and staff a lot. We were down at the time of Mexico's spring break so it was very busy but fun because we seen all the big celebrations they did! Over all we'd go back!

    “Accommodating and attentive service.”

Each day we were greeted with a smile and by your staff. The dining and restaurant personnel were very pleasant. we notice Magali Rodriguez, Luz Diaz, Leticia Cruz and Cesar Castro had coffee in hand ready to serve. All hard workers. It was our first time to this resort.

    “A great getaway!”

I've stayed at this Barcelo five times in the past four years. So, obviously it has been one of my favorite vacation spots! Pros: - Spacious, beautiful suites - Staff is friendly and helpful - Buffet food is great! - Enough activities to keep you busy - Tony's restaurant is just across the street. You'll want to go there, their food is outstanding! Cons: - It's quite a trek into Puerto Vallarta (although that's also a pro for me since I like to travel away from hotel zones) - Needed to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants

    “Could have been better”

I had previously stayed at the Barceló property in Cabo San Lucas and loved it. This hotel is very, very nice. The food is excellent and the grounds are kept immaculate. It is a bit different from the Cabo property. We upgraded and paid for premium status and we found the concierge in the premium lounge not nearly as helpful as in Cabo. I wanted to exchange currency and I was told it was $100.00 maximum. I had other issues with the premium concierge as well. Most hotel guests were from the surrounding areas and were local. We did not meet any other American guests but we did meet some Canadians. Most of the hotel staff that deals with guests speak good English. There were many families with children and they had a designated children's pool which was nice. We found the maid in our room when we had the Do not disturb sign up. We reported it to management and heard nothing back from them. It is a 45 minutes from the airport and there is nothing within walking distance from the hotel. The Spa Services and women that work in the spa are top class and professional. Wireless access is free when you pay for the premium upgrade but it is only available on the ground floor by the pool. One employee said the wireless would be upgraded in the coming months.

Dear Molly The vision of our clients is the key to complete guest-satisfaction, therefore we are very grateful for the time you spent writing this review. We lament hearing that the service provided at Premium Level concierge fell short of your expectations. Our staff's professional service is a point of pride for us and we are quite disappointed to hear that you felt we underperformed in this area, nevertheless please rest assured that your comments will be shared with the entire team for information and further revision. On other hand we really appreciated for mentinong the area sthat were to you liking as our beautiful grounds, delicious cuisine and of course our Spa Service. Thank you once again for making us your choice hotel and for your constructive critics, we certaily look forward to serving you again and to have the opportunity to exceed you expectations in a not too distant future. Best Regards, Rodolfo Pacheco Gerente General / General Manager Barceló Puerto Vallarta

    “Great for the price”

I stayed for 3 nights and had a blast. The property is kept very clean, all the staff I encountered were very nice. I didn't feel like the place was overcrowded and there was always space on the beach with chairs, it was difficult getting umbrellas but we didn't really care for them. The beach was kept very clean, it is adjacent to a public beach, we did see some jelly fish but they were on the public beach and not the private beach, I also recall signs that said there are jellyfish if you leave the private beach. We enjoyed the food at the buffet and the snack bar, we also had a chance to eat at the Japanese restaurant and that was pretty good. We do wish there was more communication about the daily activities, some activities were cancelled without notice. All in all we had a great time, for the price point we got more than what we paid in my opinion. Last thing we didn't like was the '$500 resort credit' it's not a credit at all, they give you discounts on different services, so you don't get to credit any amount towards those services it's a fixed discount. For example if a massage is $100 they might give you 20% discount that 20% comes out of the $500 and your left with $480 but you have to pay the $80 for the massage.
