    “Dissapointed”

Hotel is very large and lots of walking involved, getting from A to B, a problem if you are not so mobile. No porters were offered when we arrived, which made things difficult in finding our room. The hotel is divided into 3 blocks, and we were in block 2! A Lady who was two floors above us, said it was just over 1/2 mile to the restaurant , as shown on her Pedometer! Rooms were nice and lovely comfy beds, but bath with shower over was not good for an older person, no grab rail to assist you getting out of the shower. There we two grab rails in the bath but not suitable for shower users. The plus was free wifi. The disappointment for us was the large canteen type restaurant serving lukewarm, recycled food, buffet style! Always noisy with children being allowed to run around, screaming, with staff pushing trolleys through the throng, making it difficult to find your table. We also felt the animation team were very childish, ok with Children! The area is a purpose built area with no character and very few decent shops to wander round, and with the weather not being at its best, there was not a lot to do. I am afraid it was not for us, and will not be returning ,,

    “Excellent hotel”

Excellent hotel, highly recommended. Lovely rooms, plenty of entertainment and fantastic choice of food in the restaurant. The children loved the heated pool and mini golf. Beach was at our doorstep and the resort never felt overcrowded.

“My overall experience of the hotel”

Whilst overall nice hotel there could be more toilets plus soap and hand towels in them. The staff are very friendly and hard working. Only fault was toilets. Cold food in the evening. Overall the hotel is very nice

“Great location for a relaxing holiday with plenty of local interest.”

The hotel was very comfortable with helpful staff. The hotel was very pleasant and well laid out with attractive and well maintained grounds. The only problem for us was the lack of a lift between the dining room and the reception level. There is a good stair case but anyone with mobility difficulties would be faced with a somewhat lengthy walk both to and from the nearest lift. Unless you have paid for the (expensive) upgrade you will need to provide your own instant coffee, tea bags and milk for refreshments in your room. You could find tea bags provided for the breakfast service and if you took a few extra you would have them for use in your room and I guess you could buy milk at a local store. We brought our own favourite Yorkshire tea bags and a couple of 500ml cartons of long life milk; which lasted for our week of residency. Two bottles of mineral water were provided free of charge in the room fridge but any more had to be purchased (much more cheaply at a nearby shop than in the hotel). It would have been very much appreciated if the hotel had provided a pair of clean flannel wash cloths in the bathroom each day but they did not. (We had brought our own, fortunately). Maybe these were part of the upgrade but we have stayed in many other hotels where they were provided as part of the normal service.

    “Great hotel and location”

We were there for a week from 28 January and really enjoyed a relaxing week in this perfectly situated hotel with promenade walks in either direction, harbour 10 mins away and shops and bars galore within easy walking distance. Not that we used them much as we were happy to stay in the hotel and enjoy their facilities and entertainment. This is a lovely hotel and I loved our superior room on the first floor overlooking the pool area with partial sea view with the late afternoon and early evening sun perfect for a little drink on the balcony. I could not fault the room, spacious, clean and good facilities. Going out of season meant it wasn't too busy but still plenty of activities and people going about. I enjoyed some of the show entertainment but some was plain weird and the entertainment team are kidding themselves if they think they are entertainers! There is a massive choice in the restaurant and no one could go hungry! We particularly enjoyed the grill and the choice at breakfast was excellent. However I longed for hot food and this was not to be with everything at warm temperature unless directly off the grill but then your veg would be warm. We had unlimited access to the Spa with the superior room but Thomson omitted to tell us the pool there was out of use and was actually a building site which was disappointing. This is a big hotel and I don't think any staff engaged with us at any time in our week there but I went to relax so that didn't bother me and certainly staff were pleasant and efficient. So the question is would I go back and I have to say I loved this hotel and the area, perfect for a relaxing week in the sun. Heat the food and open the Spa - perfect! Book it!
