Description
This 1-hour concert performed in the beautiful Baroque concert hall in Lobkowicz Palace is the perfect way to break up your tour and add something extra special to your experience. Professional musicians, including members of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, play for your pleasure music by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, all within the walls of Prague Castle where you can admire Prague from the terrace.
The Lobkowicz Palace in Prague Castle is one of the most significant cultural sites in the Czech Republic and the only privately owned building in the Prague Castle complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Palace is home to the highly acclaimed Lobkowicz Collections, the oldest and largest private collection in the Czech Republic.
Popular chamber classical music concerts are performed in the original musical salon of the palace. You may also visit the Palace Museum (additional charge) and Lobkowicz Café with sweeping views of Prague.
Lobkowicz Palace is a fitting venue for a concert series that draws its inspiration from the great composers of its Czech homeland integrated with Europe’s masters of baroque and classical music. In an eclectic programme, complete with solo and ensemble pieces played by a violist, pianist and flautist, the pristine harmonies written by Vivaldi, Gluck and Bach will draw your attention. They will also share the beautiful works of Dvořák, Janáček and Smetana.
The concert program varies from day-to-day, but invariably includes solo and ensemble pieces by Baroque composers such as Bach and Vivaldi, alongside great 19th-century Czech composers including Dvořák and Smetana.
So take a moment in your day of sightseeing Prague to relax and take in some chamber music, surrounded by historic works of art in the Lobkowicz Palace's Baroque concert hall.
