Caminito del Rey Day Trip from Malaga and Costa del Sol

Experience one of Andalusia’s most spectacular walking routes along the famous Caminito del Rey, a pathway suspended between cliffs and deep gorges within a striking natural setting. Travelling from Malaga and different points along the Costa del Sol, you will be accompanied by a guide who will share information about the landscapes and villages of inland Málaga.

Before reaching the route, there will be a stop in Ardales, a peaceful white village surrounded by nature where you can relax, enjoy breakfast or stroll through its quiet streets. Shortly afterwards, you will access the Caminito del Rey together with an accredited guide.

The route follows wooden walkways attached to the walls of the impressive Gaitanes Gorge, reaching heights of more than 100 metres above the river below. Along the way, suspended bridges, narrow pathways and dramatic viewpoints reveal extraordinary panoramas of the surrounding canyon.

Beyond its natural beauty, the Caminito del Rey also holds historical significance linked to the hydroelectric infrastructure developed in the area during the early twentieth century. For decades it was considered one of Spain’s most challenging routes before being fully restored and adapted for visitors.

The sound of flowing water deep within the gorge, the sensation of height beneath the walkways and the vast silence of the surrounding mountains create an atmosphere filled with intensity and contrast. Each section of the trail offers a striking connection with the landscape suspended between rock, sky and open space.
