    “Barcelo Karmina is an excellent spot to take a vacation”

    Beautiful compact spot, the pools remind me of a Roman fountain, the pools of varying sizes all run into each other down towards the largest pool next to the beach. Lots of bars stocking stocking good liqour as house Bacardi, Smirnoff, don Julio, Canadian Mist rye? 99% of the staff is excellent. There is one old grumpy waiter in the Japanese al la carte. Hugo is great by the pool and George is excellent in the Buffet and Grill (works both) The rooms are clean and the fridge is always stocked, What can I say this was a grade A place to go. Loved it. The Italian and Japanese al la cartes were hit and miss, we enjoyed the Ajave (Mexican) but other travellers had negitive comments. The buffet is the best I've seen.

    “Awesome”

    We loved the Karmina. The food was excellent, our room was spacious and beautiful. Excellent maids who came and made our room clean and enjoyable every day. Everything a vacation should be. My only drawback was the construction that went on above our heads in the afternoon. I believe they may have been removing tiling flooring by the noise and vibration. It would stop everyday at 6 pm but made it impossible for an afternoon nap. We would definitely stay again.

    “Highly recommend”

    This was our first visit and we are planning on returning. We liked that the resort was not overly large. The rooms are large and beautiful with the best soaker tub I have ever seen. The food was consistently delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

    “2 weeks vacation”

    We upgraded was not worth it. We had to watch them make drinks and had to argue even when we had the right wrist band on. The food was average. Samething every day at the buffet. Kids table was more appealing than adults. They need to do a. Menu to a three week rotation. The Japanese alacart was excellent but very slow. Waited for 1/2 hour for drinks. The beach is awful The pool was nice but no entrainment. This is lacking Music sucked. People would save chairs and not come back tilll end of day very rude. The entertainment in evening was nice but they need to do a three week rotation If you were Mexican you were treated different. Nothing special for Valentine's Day We noticed if you were Mexican you got roses. The chairs were very uncomfortable at beach/pool and in lounging areas. Need upgraded. The workers were very friendly. The lady in the office where you upgrade was not friendly. She needs to get some education on this. If you were talking to her and the phone rang she would answer it and make you sit for a long time. No customer service. The front desk staff were very nice. This is resort needs a lot of upgrading.

    “Great resort for a return visit.”

    Had a great week at the Barcelo Karmina for the second year in a row. The friendly helpful staff are always smiling, from the room staff to the painters giving the resort a fresh coat of paint always a warm hello. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfortable as long as you don't get one with mattress cover that sounds like your rolling on chips all night. There is lots of variety on the buffet nightly. Breakfast and lunch is best at the Capri restaurant. There is always bacon and the omelettes are huge. It is nice that you can now access the long beach for a walk from the resort instead of walking to the Walmart to access it. Just ask security to open the gate and give a return time and they will be there to let you back in. The only problem I had with the resort this year is that you had to pay for wifi. Last year it was free in the lobby. You would think that the Barcelo would have a little more consistency between their resorts. It is a great place for a getaway to relax in the sun in the dead of winter.
