    All together a good stay, a few things like pull out couch not being comfortable to sleep on and having to move room beause of the air conditioning not working so had to pack up and change rooms, more entertainment for adults through the day and night would help parents feel more on holiday

    “Dont drink the water !!!!”

    An odd title for a Barcello Hotel review but they charge €2.00 for 500 mls of water in the restaurant. I know its a hotel but you can buy 5 litres of water in the local supermarket for €1.00. That is a big difference. Some profit there !!! Having said that, the staff and reception are brilliant. All very helpful. The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear in places and some walkways are breaking up on the surface, creating trip hazards. We had a superior room on floor 4 with sea view. Kept spotlessly clean by our superb cleaner and quite comfortable. The food in the restaurant is varied enough to suit most tastes but could be hotter. The location is a bit out of the way but buses are good value and a car might be better. All in all a good holiday.

    “Wouldn’t return unfortunately”

    I am not normally a complainer however I wish I knew the stuff I’m about to explain before spending my holiday here. We arrived about 10pm and was welcomed by the smell of poo. The bar also smells of poo which is lovely. We were told to wait till 11pm for food. So we unpacked then came down to be told no food and no drinks now by another reception staff. When I have stayed at hotels before they normally put a plate of food aside for late arrivals. Even a sandwich as been travelling all day. We asked where local food was so we could eat to be told we’d have to catch a taxi for 15 minutes. When in fact if you take the right outside the hotel and walk for one minute you will come to the Flinstones bar which serves food till midnight and was yummy! The entertainment was poor. The seating area for entertainment is small for the hotel with not enough seats. The animation team work hard but their funding must be poor. It’s just them lip syncing to different songs. We sat watching funny videos on the big screen for half an hour for entertainment one evening. Food was cold each day and looks like a school canteen. No signs on food which is difficult with someone who can’t eat fish. Chefs can’t speak English so couldn’t confirm if the food had fish or not. Ended up heating every meal up in the microwave. They have hot plates to keep them warm but obviously doesn’t work. Sun beds are extremely close together so you end up in each other’s pocket with not a lot of room to move them. Not slot of umbrellas to hide from the sun. Plenty of sun beds so will never go without. This hotel is not on the beach front. Maybe to done rocks and sea. The beach is about 10 minute walk to the beach. People who struggle to walk will find this difficult as it is up and down hills. It is a lava sand beach so you can’t walk on the sand. Still burns through flip flops. Again not suitable for people who can’t walk well as you will burn your feet. No smoking in the beach which is good. Clean and tidy. The area is very quiet which is good for some. Few shops. Not suitable for the party goers. Bus stop outside hotel which is good. We caught the bus into costa Adeje and to Siam park. 100% recommend Siam park. Catch 477 bus not 473 as it takes longer. 40 minute journey to main bus station then 10 minute walk to the park. I spoke my concerns with a Jet2 rep who told us to go to a different town with entertainment which is not what we want when paying all inclusive. Rooms are spacious. I had to ring reception a few times as cleaner didn’t leave any towels. The shower leaked Aswell as our room neighbours. The hair dryer didn’t work which they all got promptly resolved. Noisy if you are near the stage. Noisy when the workers are wheeling trolleys past your rooms late at night. They do have wifi which is obviously stronger in the main areas. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this hotel.

    “Huge plastic waste problem”

    Clean, modern apartment room, although the air conditioning didn't quite reach the bedroom (luckily in September you don't need it too badly), and sometimes we didn't have running water for a little while. Lovely staff, great activities during the day and evenings, clean and up-to-date gym, bike rental, only a short walk to the beach, there is also reliable bus service (to Los Gigantes/Las Americas) with a stop just outside the hotel. *No TUI rep - we didn't realise this until we got here, in the end it didn't matter too much. Our biggest hangup however was the *MASSIVE AMOUNT OF PLASTIC WASTE* - snacks available all day but only using disposable cutlery/plastic plates and cups by the poolside. Other hotels use reusable plastic cups and I don't see why this can't be done here. We managed to wash and reuse our cups all week, but there were certainly people getting through 10+ cups a day. I feel this is a very hot topic which the hotel could certainly get on board with.

    From the staff to the rooms bar and pools everything it was spotless. The kids entertainment and the life singing it was so nice. You would want to go out from the hotel. Everything that you needed it was there.
