    “Horribly Experience Avoid Allegro Hotel”

The worst Hotel I’ver been. Mediocre Staff I was enrolled in the Scuba diving Padi IDC course with ProDive at the Allegro hotel under the instructor, Angel Navarro. However, during the time I spent in the course and with the instructor, I felt my experience was not taken into consideration nor respected and was insulted by how I was treated. Sadly, today I had to remove myself from the course due to no longer being able to tolerate the frequent verbal abuse from the Instructor. The last straw wad when Angel Navarro insulted and berated me in front of other students. Maintaining my composure and keeping in mind my personal safety, I felt it was best I remove myself from the situation. I informed the instructor that I no longer wanted to continue the course with him. This led to another exchange where Angel Navarro raised his voice in an angry manner, once again insulted me and told me he was going to call PADI and have me banned from taking any future courses He followed this up by kicking me out of the dive site which was located in the middle of a jungle in Mexico. I had no transportation and had to walk several miles, with my gear, back to the main road to catch a cab. Obviously, I am a very unhappy client of Prodive and the course director Angel Navarro. Given the situation I at least expected my money back, but of course was refused. Prodive stole $1000 USD from me. Be aware before taking any dive course at Prodive or Allegro Hotel. Cheers!

    “Awesome trip!”

Our holiday didn't start off great as we had a 9 hour delay in Winnipeg . No big deal as it happens. As we have been on several AI's in Mexico, Cuba and the DR we only decided to do one excursion and that was a day trip to Cozumel. The ferry ride was very fast. As the resort is located in the gated Playacar condominium complex, it is only a mile walk to 5th Avenue so we spent a better part of the day exploring part of Playa del Carman. You can walk a mile on either side of the resort. To the north you run into the Cozumel ferry pier and the south a cliff. The beach is gorgeous, very wide and never feels busy. The staff, what can I say except very professional and try very hard to ensure your stay is incredible. We stayed in Block 35 (Room 3515) which is the second floor and BTW, awesome as it was a full garden view but yet provided privacy even sitting on the balcony. WIFI was $45 US for 7 days. The entire hotel grounds is immaculately landscaped. Cant say enough for the beauty of the resort. The food was superb and never had issues booking the al la cartes. There is one main buffet, 2 al la cartes, snack bar, and lunch buffet near pool, and pizza snack bar by the pool as well. This is a mid-sized resort at best size wise and that is perfect for us and is around 75 minutes from the Cancuun Airport. We would definitely go back to this resort and to the manager, please pass on our kindest regards to you and your staff for a great holiday.

    “Great place for the $$”

The resort is awesome, clean & friendly... Don't sign up to learn about becoming a preferred member... At check in, we were somewhat pressured into going on a 90 minute (90 minutes said several times) to see the sister resort, including breakfast at that resort, and be presented with an offer to become a preferred member in the resort the following morning. We signed up for the 90 minute tour & breakfast. After 2 hours, we were still at the other resort, (20 minutes away) & still hadn’t been told the cost of the program or benefits. I demanded that we be returned to our resort, where I declined the offer. By the time I was finished, it was just over 3 hours.

“Nice hotel, but don’t use kids club”

We stayed for a few nights prior to check it out before staying at another resort. The hotel, pools, and food are very good. Our 5-year old wanted to try out the kids club. Allegro Playacar has a designated place for the kids with a clubhouse, playground, and pool. We were told it was closed on Friday. Then that it was open, but they were at the pool (they weren’t). Then they’d be back at 1 pm (they weren’t). Then back in 15 minutes (they weren’t). When someone was available we signed her in and asked if we could return a bit later. We were told yes. I went to check in her 20 minutes later and she was swimming in the pool, by herself, unsupervised, while two staff members sat in the clubhouse watching the movie Fantastic Four. I stayed with her a little bit and the. We left. I don’t care if the kids club is closed, but don’t accept a child and then let her swim unsupervised. That is enough for me to knock the rating way down. When you tell us it’s supervised and it’s not, that’s unacceptable. If you can’t provide a safe environment, then don’t offer it.

    “Recent family vacation”

We returned from Allegro Playacar yesterday. Our family enjoys this resort very much! It is comforting to see many of the same staff from our last vacation. Alejandro (misspelled??) is a positive, upbeat, energized person who engages with all. The activities begin at 10 AM and end at 5 PM. Every staff member was pleasant with smiles. We ate at the buffet which had a full range of foods. Breakfast had 3-4 types of eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, cereal, juices, cheese, fruits and assorted home made breads and baked goods. There are evening reservations for specialty dining for Mexican, Italian or Asian foods. All were excellent! This is an all-inclusive resort. It is all you care to eat and drink. Some guests over indulge. Much food gets wasted from guests taking more than they are able to consume. In the evening, there is nightly entertainment and a disco for late night dancing. We go to bed early (and even with the activities), it is quiet by 10 pm. Perfect! This is an ideal place for family vacation.
