    “Very Happy”

Dull and drab from the outside but bright and contemporary once inside. The hotel is in a good location, easy walk into the old town, close to the Lido and shopping centres. Bus stops, bars and restaurants very close by too. We stayed for 11 nights and had a very positive experience. Staff are helpful and approachable. Our room was spacious, clean and toiletries were aplenty. Robes and pool towels were provided. There was no charge for the safe, there was a little fridge and a kettle (coffee, tea etc was not always replenished). There is a lack of surface space e.g. not a lot of space to put anything in the bathroom and as clothes hang above the dressing table, this space is limited too. On our first night the hotel delivered complimentary biscuits to our room!I used the gym every day, it's small but has everything you need including towels and water. We did not use the spa facilities. We were half board and found the food was lovely. The choices were plentiful and quickly replenished. We opted for the chef's specials each evening - freshly cooked fish or meat while you wait / watch. The roof top bar is lovely to sit out and relax on an evening. No noise at night time resulted in a peaceful nights sleep, beds were comfortable. We always found a sun lounger. Would recommend.

    “Great Hotel & So Peaceful”

Although from the outside this hotel does look like a former Soviet tower block, way too much grey, once you get inside the hotel is superb. Very modern with nice touches extremely clean and with a fantastic calm quiet aura especially as its adults only. The room is fairly small and limited storage space. It's very clean and well looked after. We found it doable with the limited space but we would struggle if we stayed 2 weeks. Breakfast is plentiful with a great array of choice. Pool area again clean and well laid out, plenty of beds and the best pool towels ever. If you want a week in Madeira with a quiet hotel that is new and modern, very clean and close to plenty of restaurants you'll struggle to beat this place.

    “OK but rather bland”

I stayed here with my wife for a 1 week break through Thomas Cook Holidays. The hotel is adults only. Check in was excellent. Friendly and helpful reception staff. They gave us a upgrade to a Junior Suite which was a nice surprise. They checked us in at Noon too. The room was perfectly fine with a nice shower room. The hotel is in excellent condition as was the room. The room and common areas were spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were excellent and again in great condition. There were two criticisms we had though... the first is that there is only very little space in the room to put clothes that don't hang. We left some of our clothing in the suitcase. The second is that the entire hotel is rather clinical and void of any real character. Not a huge complaint but it felt a bit like it was thrown together as a hotel. The outside was a lot of unpainted concrete again adding to the "unfinished" feel. Breakfast was perfectly fine but nothing special. However, the restaurant staff were not very friendly. The had an attitude that we were there for them rather than the other way around. They have a bit to learn about customer service in my opinion. The front desk staff and maids were all perfectly fine though. The pool was very clean and water temperature was fine too. Lots of sunbeds and we never had to scramble for them in the morning but they could do with a few more umbrellas for shade. There is a sauna and steam room which if you want to use you have to ask at reception to be turned on but that was no trouble. They were clean and fully working but there are no changing rooms there so be prepared to change back in your room. The small gym looked in good condition too but I didn't use it myself. Only other comment would be that the background music played at the poolside was often too loud and rather intrusive. Excellent free Wifi throughout the hotel. The rooftop bar is a welcome spot in the evening with great views. Location is not at all bad. Just a 2EUR bus ride to the centre of Funchal (Green Line number 1 or 2... stops right outside!) or a 30 mins walk but there are many pretty good restaurants just 5 or 10 mins from the hotel too. There are several Spar shops open until late within 5 mins walk too and one right next door for the essentials. We bought water and beer there to save paying hotel prices. There is a Pharmacy nearby too. All in all this is a pretty decent holiday hotel with no real complaints... just a few small niggles.

    “Friendly, modern and great location”

Stayed here one night one before flight home, but wish it had been longer. The hotel is modern and clean and is in the very best location. Staff are friendly and efficient and the breakfast which was included in our overnight rater was excellent. We will definately choose this hotel the next time we visit Funchal.
