    Has taken me a while to write this review had put it off because I was annoyed about certain parts of my holiday and didn't want to keep going over it again...but anyway we were here 2 weeks ago and can only say I was very dissapointed with the food as you see in many other reviews the problems with the flys and having to eat beside the pool at the snack bar because the restaurant was being renovated.. though the hotel arnt totally to blame for this we have a hudge issue with jet 2, we got an email a week before we travelled and tried to get in touch with them to see what they can offer us or change the hotel but nothing! So we went with van open mind..what I did expect from the hotel was to be upgraded or compansated some how without having to complain,being offered a day at a water park just doesn't cover it,we still have to eat,my kids hated when it came to lunch and dinner they wouldn't eat because of the flies so therefore we had to eat out on a few occasions to just enjoy a nice family meal without fighting off flies and sorry to say rude Spanish family's always jumping the que, another issue was the bar during the day it was miles from the kids pool and the que to get a drink just wasn't worth it,one member off staff working in a hudge busy hotel is just not on,so therefore no way did we get our money worth at all, couldn't get a drink and didn't want to eat,and again the Spanish jumped the que a few times and the bar staff just egnored us,only a few I'm not saying they were all rude!!....the bar staff in the evening were the entertainmentwas we're polite and completely run off there feet..all in all my kids did have a good time they enjoyed the kids club and the entertainment they also worked hard and we're very friendly!! My only issue with the kids club was they let the kids leave off there own accord but this is not acceptable!! We often sat beside the kids club but on our last day our little girl wondered up to the top pool and was paddyling by herself I got very cross at this but just let it go as it was my last day,the girls were lovely but I'm sorry more precautions need to be put in place...I have went on a bit but to be honest the pools our room and the hotel itself was really good,we just didn't get what we paid for and have sent a complaint to jet2 😭😭

On the other hand, we regret to read that our buffet offer did not live up to your expectations,moreover we have taken good note of your remarks related to the presence of flies,and I would like to inform you that we currently have a current contract with a specialized company that regularly perform their work of disinfestation and rodent control in the hotel according to current regulations, so you can be sure that there is no health problem in the hotel. Regarding cockroaches inform you that we currently have a current contract with a specialized company that regularly perform their work of disinfestation and rodent control in the hotel according to current regulations, so you can be sure that there is no health problem in the hotel. However, we would like to emphasize that we are located in a geographical area that due to weather conditions is very prone to the appearance of these insects and although we maintain a very exhaustive control, we are aware that in some cases they appear in the hotel. We were also most concerned to read your remarks on our Barcy club,mostly because your comments do not reflect the usual standard of service we strive to ensure for our guests.As per protocol, we have an entry and exit register where the parents of our little guests have to sign, of course we also have children who can safely go out and enter alone without being accompanied, but this must be told to one of our animators.Nevertheless please rest assured that your review will be shared with our head of departments for information and further revision. Once again, thank you for your time and despite the problems that have arisen during your stay, we hope that Barceló will continue to be an option for your next vacation and that we will have the opportunity to restore your faith in our company in the near future.     “Don't Believe All the Reviews!!”

    I travelled to this hotel with my wife and 7 year old son last week for a 9 night stay having read all the negative reviews about the restaurant being closed, etc., etc. I contacted Barcelo to voice my concerns and they were extremely helpful (Always book through the hotel chain - top tip!) who even offered a full refund but knowing the Barcelo service I have experienced before I was happy to go ahead .To be perfectly honest the dining experience outside is vey pleasant and for those reviewers saying the snack bar area from which the food is served is infested in flies is complete nonsense! Yes there are flies but as other guests have pointed out.....it's a hot country! The food choice is slightly more limited given the current renovation work but it is still tasty, quality and extremely good value for a 4* AI. If you want Michelin star food then you wouldn't be booking this hotel so don't complain! The 3 pools at the resort are excellent and again there are doing some repair work around the pools but there are plenty of sunbeds (although a few more parasols would be welcome!), The staff at this hotel are super attentive and could not be more helpful....typical Barcelo! When we stayed there was vey few English speaking kids but the animation team tried to engage with all nationalities.....typical of the entertainment put on by the team which was equally as good in the evening....highly energetic! Overall this summer is probably not the best time to come to this excellent hotel (clean bedding and towels when required another plus!) but I have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone who wants to stay in Tenerife and stay with the Barcelo chain! (Top tip - Stay AI premium it makes a nice a difference and if going to Siam Park make sure you pay the extra 15Euro extra for the fast passes per person.....unbelievable difference to your day and book through tix.com as you get a free 5Euro per person voucher towards food at the park!)

    “WE moved hotels”

    After seeing the tidal wave of fly reviews we contacted our tour company. They agreed with our worries and we were moved to another hotel free of charge. I would rather have slightly fewer amenities than food poisoning

    “Restaurant closed, uncovered fly-infested food left outside, total chaos!”

    We were really looking forward to staying at Allegro Isora for a 7 night all inclusive. We arrived and were told that the restaurant was shut for refurbishment and went out to have lunch. We were greeted by a cheap buffet left outside next to the pool with no cover over it which was swarmed by flies. Of course, we went in to the lobby and complained about the food situation, as it is horrendous. The staff at the reception said that they knew there were flies all over the food and that the restaurant may be open next month. I asked to see the manager (Rita) who told us that the food met the highest standards of hygiene and quality. I showed her photos of the food on my phone (food left in the open, covered in flies, cold food left not-chilled and hot food luke warm) and offered to walk around the buffet with her to show her how awful it was, but she declined. I then asked her if she'd consider moving the food to the indoor bar where it would be inside and less likely to be swarmed by flies, but she said that they knew best and the food will be staying outside (with all the flies). She then offered myself and my partner access to the bar menu (up until 6pm) and some free towels as compensation for the unhygienic food in exchange for me signing away my consumer rights to say that my complaint had been satisfied. I declined as we had paid for an all inclusive and this would not compensate it, not nearly enough. With that said, I then asked to write out a formal complaint and handed it to the reception. (not the best way to start your holiday...). Needless to say, we ate out for breakfast, lunch and tea everyday (at great expense) and that I will be making my thoughts known to LoveHolidays with photos of the fly-infested food and evidence of the receipts of all of my needless expenditure from my stay. The food was awful, but the room was lovely, well cleaned and the pools were brilliant. Just such a shame about the flies all over the food!

    Hotel recommendable, good food and great service. The property is located in a very quiet place with a picturesque view of the ocean and the cliffs of Los Gigantes. A family-friendly hotel with children. Good base to visit the whole island.
