    “Great service”

    this trip was good overall, All Starting with the reservation in the CALL CENTER her name was LAUDY MOTA, she was patient and did a great job. At the hotel we had the Premium level, it could be better, but it was good, room service took like 30 minutes just for a bottle service, and food would've been 1 hour for a hamburger. We took scuba Diving, it was good, Great Job . the spa personal was perfect. Towel personal was bad. played golf, Cady master was not very good, did the banana boat it was great.

    “Overall nice place.”

    Very nice property and extremely beautiful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The wait staff was pretty good and the food was nice. The down side, the staff does not speak English very well, which caused major communication problems. Not a very large variety of prime liquors, other than rum. You may want to purchase your liquor from the Duty Free store when you land.I'd go back to this same property, but I'd be better prepared to make sure the communication is better.

    “Worst Serfice Ever”

    WOW! Paid about $6,000 for my family to travel here. What a let down! Its honestly the worst service ever. You get better service at a Motel 6. Here are some examples: 1. Had dinner reservations at Kyoto for 8:15pm. Waited until 9:15pm to be seated, sat there another 25 minutes before a waiter greeted us or we got water. Keep in mind the entire time, no one is telling you whats going on...… 2. Went to buy things in the gift shop. Got my things stood in front of the counter, the gift shop girls chatted for another 7 minutes before addressing me and checking me out. 3. Servers at Hoyo 19 are SO unfriendly. Looks like they hate their job. 4. Never once in 7 days got asked when laying by pool if we wanted a drink. Waitresses walk right past you. 5. You walk past staff member in hall, no one smiles or greets you These staff members are in DESPERATE need of proper customer service training. Most barely acknowledge you or smile. There were several times I wanted a drink but didn't want to go to the bar because I felt like it was such a chore and I was bothering them. That's ridiculous I felt that way. Food is terrible, very bland. Some good things: Grounds are beautiful. Guest Services people are nice and Fredricio in Kyoto was best server in whole place. Would never ever stay here again. Before this I always stayed at Excellence properties. I URGE the upper management to stay a couple nights at an Excellence property to see how their staff treats you versus yours staff. If you want an all inclusive - go stay at an Excellence property. They treat you like royalty.

    “Better places out there”

    We stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace in a family duplex room. Other than being far away from the beach, the room accommodations worked well for us. We were travelling as a group of 3 adults so the family duplex allowed everyone to have their own bed, and having 2 bathrooms was nice. The biggest downfall of this resort is the food. It was terrible! We found ourselves circling the buffet multiple times, and mostly filling our plates with bread and fries. One person in our party ended up spending the better part of 2 days in the room with food poisoning. The rest of us had abdominal cramps most of the week. As a side note, I will also never travel again with sunwing. Their planes are so tight it is like a torture test getting to your destination... WestJet or Air Canada for us in the future!

    “3 Stars”

    We stayed here last week for 5 days. The view was gorgeous but definite improvements need to be made. The rooms could be better taken care of- decor and cleanliness wise. I wouldn’t walk around them barefoot. The food is below average. Not a huge variety and taste is bland- Kyoto was the best restaurant there. Staff was great and the evening entertainment was also fun. Overall 3 stars.
