“Three nights stay at the Barcelo airo Pyramids Hotel”

This hotel was very average the first couple of nights there was no hot water for showers and no tea/coffee in our room, the room looked out on to a place where rubbish was dumped but it was reasonably close to the Giza Pyramids. We then left Cairo and continued our tour of Egypt staying at the same hotel on the way back when we had hot water and a much better room it was very average.

    “Barcelo Hotel ”

The management is so helpful, friendly and professional. Mr. Maher is so nice man and so helpful at providing a meeting room for my group to guarantee privacy and quietness during the meeting. Wi-Fi is really good.

    “Beautiful”

Stayed here in August 2016 visiting the one who later became my husband. Situated in Haram street Barcelo is one of the most beautiful hotels in the area if not the only one. The lobby is amazing, reception staff was nice. Rooms: had a room at the 9th floor street view, noise didn’t bother at all considering it was so high. Nice room, pretty big with a basket of fruit on arrival. Nice touch But: no in room water bottles not coffee/tea facilities which for a 4 star hotel is a must. Bedsheets were not so clean and looked old; maybe since then, they changed this. Bathroom: not new nor looking taken care of. Had bigger expectations for a 4 star hotel. Poor WiFi always stopping till it stopped forever and they didn’t manage to fix it by the time I left and I stayed 1 month???? Pool area nice and classy. All in all I had a good stay but not sure if I was to return here.

    “It’s probably value for money”

When you drive via the airport and see your surrounds you can’t imagine a nice hotel could possibly exist. Even up to just before the entrance you are doubtful. But once there and inside all good. Disappointed we got an internal room (there is a tip for you ask for a window) - no big deal as we went upstairs to the restaurant and enjoyed a beer and seeing the pyramids in the distance. Our tour supplied lunch so most days we were too full for dinner. We shared the mezze plate for entre- big enough for two - really tasty and only $10aud. Beer wasn’t always cold. Our room fridge heated more than cooled and for a hotel renovated <10 years ago the rooms were good but not great. The pool area nice. Overall a good mid range hotel. Everything is very well priced too. We also walked the streets - got money changed at local bank, bought supplies down the road at carefore supermarket and something to eat roadside. Don’t be afraid to wander the streets. It’s safe enough.

    “Comfortable with good breakfast”

I stayed here twice on either end of an Intrepid tour. The hotel has comfortable rooms although, as in most of Egypt, they are showing some wear and tear. Very good breakfast with some nice local choices. There was a Carrefor supermarket about 10 minutes down the road and on the opposite side, if you turned left as you left the hotel. Good for snacks, fruit and water. There is also an excellent falafel sandwich shop on the first street to the right if you turn right outside the hotel. It is on the right about 75metres along the street. Very good food and super cheap. Hotel is close to Giza so makes the journey there easy. Not a great hotel but not a bad choice either. I was quite happy with my stays.
