    “Barcelo Cairo Pyramids”

The Lobby of this hotel is big, clean and smell so good all the time. There is always some one at the reception to help you or guide you on any question. The rooms are big and clean. Friendly staff...

“A short but very pleasant stay”

I only stayed in Barcelo Cairo for 2 days, but they were still very enjoyable. In the middle of the chaos that Cairo can sometimes be, it was an oasis of rest. The staff was very polite and friendly and helpful.

    “Good location and nice hotel”

We arrived in Cairo after 28hrs flying at around 11.30am at the hotel reception. The staff were fantastic they checked us in quickly and were most helpful. Mustafa and Nancy really helped to make things move smoothly. The room is nice but be warned it is a little noisy if you are on the road side as we were. The food was okay and the pool was okay too. The thing that makes the hotel is the staff nothing was to much trouble and Ramy in the restaurant really spoiled me. If they do not have something you want just ask and if they can they will sort it our for you. As for the location its very central but there is very little to walk and see so either stay in the hotel when not on your tour or take a cab

    “Worst Hotel Experience EVER!”

Let's start with the check-in process. I'm very funny when it comes to my passport while abroad, I mean that is my sure way of getting in and out of a country. At this particular hotel, they took my passport and told me to sit down...mistake number one. I was with a male friend and the receptionist must of thought we were together and decided to only want to deal with him. Little did he know, we were in separate rooms. Highly annoyed at that point. In addition, I reached out to the hotel several days before arriving to set up early check in, which they said would be fine. But once i got to the hotel, my room wasn't available. I sat in the lobby for an hour and a half after traveling for 26 hours waiting for a temporary room. I finally get my temporary room and was told my "real" room would be available the next day when my 2 other guests arrived. What the hell?! Tired and annoyed I go to the room and unwind. Room was filthy and so outdated, but I was exhausted so I overlooked it for that night. Later on that evening me and my male friend went downstairs to the restaurant to get food. Originally nobody was there and he went to the receptionist desk to ask for a assistance when they told him to go to the other restaurant. But that's not what we wanted to eat so I walked upstairs and told the host I preferred to eat in the restaurant downstairs. He appeared annoyed but lead us to the restaurant. Big. Mistake! I ordered Seafood from this restaurant and the following day was extremely I'll from food poisoning. I was sick for 9 days, unable to enjoy my stay in Egypt and part of my stay in South Africa. Not to mention the following day when I tried to move into my new room before leaving for our tour...my room was still not ready. I asked what should i do with my bags and they said leave them in the room and they would move them. Not fully convinced I told my other 2 guests which room my bags were in and if they got there before me, make sure my bag is in the room. Needless to say, the host told my friends they can't move my bags but they could go get them. Wtf?! And the icing on the cake was how they tried to get over on us with the taxi service to the airport. Arriving it was $30, but when it was time to leave they tries to charge us $40...hell no! I ended up calling an Uber for $10 (the guy wasn't going to charge us due to technical problems with the app, but I still have him something). Barcelo Cairo Pyramids was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I regret not booking a hotel in New Cairo. If you decide to give it a try anyways, don't eat the food and use Uber if you can. I will not be staying at this hotel again during my next visit. Hope this helps future travelers!
