    “Great Hotel”

I have been to this hotel 5 times now, each time I’ve really enjoyed it.This year however My friends and I were bitterly disappointed, what have you done with the Animation team,? There were only two who came up to scratch Alvaro and Karen, the others were a waist of space. Dalai Alcazar would only speak English if she had to,once a Spanish lady had to tell her to now explain the game in English for us. We have always enjoyed the activities but this year just didn’t have the same enjoyment. We think you have made a very big mistake letting Ivan go,and the hotel is not as enjoyable without him.

    “Superb Autumn break”

We stayed at this lovely hotel for two weeks in October. Food was really very good, and nicely presented. We went fully inclusive and enjoyed the show cooking of meat and fish. Lovely salads too, and a good selection of fresh deserts at both sittings. It was fairly quiet whilst we were there, but the size of the dining rooms displayed how busy the hotel must get in more popular months. We paid extra for a seaview room, and were very pleased we did. The beach, which you can reach via a short boardwalk, was so clean. There were lovely walks through the Enebrales nature reserve, and a great but much longer walk to the fish farm, which we visited a few times in the two weeks we were there. Punta Umbria itself is a typical Andalusian town, and is about a 20 minute walk away. We used Saga to visit this hotel, but were very sad to see that Saga will not be at this hotel in 2019. I have since found out that Jet2 holidays also include this hotel in their holiday choices. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and its lovely staff!

    “Stayed for a weekend”

Beautiful hotel situated in a very nice area. Friendly staff. Loved the room layout. Good value for money. Breakfast, l found a bit limiting compared to the other Barcelo's l have stayed. Dinner was nice but could do with a bit more of a variety. As we did not visit in the high season. Hotel was quiet but nice. Will certainly visit again.

    “Sweaty, noisy, but nice”

The hotel is closing in two weeks time for refurbishment, so some of what I have to say may not apply next year. I am just starting the third week of a four week holiday. The hotel is U shaped, with rooms at the front and one side over looking a road. I am in one such room. There is currently no air conditioning, as reception says the temperature is 23 degrees and we do not need air conditioning. What they forget is that at night the rooms get very warm. If I open the balcony doors the sound of traffic keeps me awake, and if they are closed I lay down and sweat. Reception has no interest in offering me a quieter room. Having got that off my chest I can tell you that everything else is great. The dinning room is well laid out, the food is quite good, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Likewise with the bar. You can sit inside or outside, in the sun or in the shade. The all inclusive drinks are very good. There is a large outdoor pool, with plenty of sitting areas, and a small spa pool. However, the star attraction is the beach. The short board walk from the hotel takes you there. For miles in both directions you see beautiful golden sand. The sea, even in October, is pleasantly warm. I will not have had the restful nights I look forward to on holiday, but I have had plenty of walks through the woods and on the beach, and more days of swimming in the sea than I have had in many years. I will also go home fatter than when I arrived.

“Continues to maintain a very good standard”

My second visit to the hotel after 4 years. Some improvements have been made. The extended restaurant is a lot better, and it was nice to have wine and water on the table, instead of running to boxes. The food was wide ranging, although there was a temperature issue at times for me. Best ice cream I have had in a hotel. My room was over the bar which caused problems for me with noise on some nights. However it was large and comfortable, (apart from the pillows), with more English channels on the TV. Tea/coffee making facilities which was great, and a nice terrace, although I did get invaded by swifts on a couple of evenings! The bathrooms seriously need updating, although they were kept very clean. The baths are far too deep, which for a generally older clientele could cause serious difficulties. I am glad that I took my bath mat with me. Staff were generally cheerful and very hard working. The bar is more than adequate, with BIG drinks measures. The animation team were young and fun. The beach is wonderful, and certainly well used. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. You make a great team.
