    “Best holiday ever!”

Absolutely love this hotel! Everything is top notch. Located right beside a stunningly beautiful beach and on the promenade made it perfect for early morning sunrise photography and evening strolls by the sea. Fabulous food, superbly luxurious bed, delightful surroundings and staff and great pools all add up to a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. We loved every second and can't wait to book again for next year!

“No children resort - love it!”

The hotel is beautiful, in a good position full of shops and nice restaurants and bars. I love the 2 swimming pool areas. I appreciated all the activities, like walking in the cost, Zumba, and even a kitchen lesson on Saturday morning. The food was full of choices and a lot of selection of fruit, cheese, meat and fish. Salek from the restaurant is so nice, even if you can see him busy working on the floor is always smiling and greeting the guests, he made feel us special! The reception was very helpful and also the housekeeping very nice ! Only thing: this hotel, for the position, is very windy, so if you are in a room with see view keep in mind that is going to be windy as hell! I love that no children are allowed!

“STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE - WON'T BE BACK”

Chose this hotel after reading positive reviews - sadly disappointed. Check in was ok and the receptionist was pleasant and efficient. Locals told us the Hotel has had a total refurb as it was previously been a bit of a shabby, all inclusive establishment. There is no doubting it looks new and shiny, however it is very much style over substance. The newly clad building is cold and uninviting with very little character. The accommodation (Deluxe Double Room) was small, cramped and ill thought out. Wardrobe doors opening out onto the wash hand basin/shower area leaving no room to pass. No anti-slip surface or duck board in shower...beware it's like showering on ice..very slippy. No chairs in the room to sit and relax only a chaise longue jammed into one corner with very little room between it and the bed. There is a hot tub on the balcony, however this is overlooked by other balconies and offers no privacy. The balcony is very cramped which is disappointing as it could be a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sea view. Cleaning left a bit to be desired...there was some debris on the floor under the chaise longue which was there for the duration of our week long stay despite the floors allegedly being cleaned daily. Poolside loungers (despite warnings to the contrary) have towels on them from early morning making it impossible to get a poolside bed anytime after 9am. The oblong pool means everyone lies in rows like dominoes, if you can get a sunbed! Breakfast was a bit of a hit and miss affair...chaotic layout and lukewarm food. Dinner wasn't much better and after the our first day of hotel food we dined out for the remainder of the holiday. This is advertised as a 4 star hotel but lacks some of the little touches that you would expect at this level. The email notification of our private transfer would usually be left in our room the evening before we leave to allow us to plan our last day...not at this hotel, we had to chase it up at reception and it took them 20 mins to retrieve if from their emails. We couldn't extend our room stay on the last day due to incoming guests and asked for a courtesy room...the receptionist didn't know what this was...really!!! She offered us a shower in the Spa for 5 euros. Why wouldn't a 4 star hotel have courtesy rooms?...clearly others were in the same boat as some guests were getting changed in the toilets in reception after spending the day at the pool because the shower slots had all been booked out. All in all a bit of a let down and we will certainly not be returning any time soon.

    “Great hotel, friendly staff.”

Spent just over a week all inclusive. This was our first holiday in Lanzarote and we chose this hotel as it was adult only. On arrival we were met at reception by friendly staff who were attentive and made the formal part very easy. Our room had a sea view over the bay. The food was to a very high standard, again the staff were friendly and attentive at both breakfast and evening dinner. There was a wide range of choice and the meats were cooked there and then. A nice touch was being greeted by the managers team for dinner. Lunch at the pool bar or the sports bar was of an equally high standard. The pool area and pool never felt overcrowded. Like most hotels, some people feel the need to lay out towels at silly times in the morning, however beds were available at most times of the day. The room was clean and the daily cleaning was of a high standard. Evening cocktails were excellent and highly reccomended. Excellent hotel and staff. Will certainly return.

    “Great hotel”

We’re fairly independent travellers and tend to use a hotel as a base. Barceló didn’t disappoint. Staff friendly and room very pleasant. Paid extra for sea view which was worth it even though there was a fairly busy path below. Our only option was for half board which we used on the first night. Plenty of food stations with a good variety and well presented. Not our style though so ate out in the other nights and managed to find some decent restaurants not too far away - not always the most popular ones but good food. Breakfast well worth it with an extensive selection. Staff were extremely efficient and helpful. Our first time in Lanzarote and would come back - not necessarily to this hotel as we would probably prefer to stay in a couple of locations - Famara and El Golfo plus other smaller coastal villages - to experience the great beaches, tapas and fish restaurants we discovered. If we’d stayed in one of the much larger hotels and in playa Blanca or Puerto Del Carmen then I’m not sure we would think of coming back but thanks to the Barceló, we would.
