    “Just what we needed ”

Just returned from the most relaxing week I've ever had. This was my first visit to Tenerife and was exactly as I envisaged from trip advisor reviews. The hotel Barcelo Santiago..... amazing. My partner has stayed here many times before and was greeted with a welcome back by the reception staff, and thought it would be an ideal introduction to the island, and she wasn't wrong. Puerto Santiago doesn't have the hustle and bustle of the southern resorts, it's a far more relaxed, chilled atmosphere. We came across a couple of people complaining that the area was "awful with nothing to do". That's your fault if you want hot Blackpool stay in the south. If relaxing is your thing this is the hotel for you. Yes some of the rooms have problems but what hotel doesn't? Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner where chefs and waiting staff line up to greet guests with a smile was nice. Food was great, the choice was huge. Don't expect Michelin star standards and you'll not be disappointed. Pool area and bar are the highlight, due to the hotels construction it offers fantastic views of La Gomera and Los Gigantes which happens to be a 10/15 minute walk away that takes you through residential areas so you get to see real Tenerife. They're changing railings on balconies to the more modern toughened safety glass that is around the sun bed areas which will only improve the look of the hotel. My one bit of advice to anyone staying here..... take or buy a snorkel and visit the natural pools below the hotel, our last day we spent almost 90 mins floating around watching fish. All in all it was a wonderful week of relaxing with happy friendly staff whom looked after our every need. We are already planning a return next year.

    “Wow!”

I may be a bit biased regarding this hotel, as it had been my 4th visit, and already booked for next year, need i say more? Could not have had a more relaxing time, the staff are exceptional and never stop, the room was clean and spotless albeit a little tired but ongoing refurbishment will rejuvenate this hotel back to its formal glory. Its a magical place with views to die for. The food was above average and very varied on a day to day basis. The pools are just perfect - one is heated. I chose to have a lazy holiday and spent most time at the pool and the bar? (thank you lads) you'll know who you are? Ive got to know the area reasonable well and their are lovely walks in both directions to Los Gigantes and Puerto Santiago (taking in a couple of hostelries on the way) Boat trips are a plenty and would recommend this. The small harbour (Los Gigantes) is lively at all times and certainly worth a visit. Once again - Thank you Barcelo for making another special fortnight and look forward to doing it all again. “Excellent view”

my first time in Spain. I went to tenerife with my doughter few months ago to complete our personal world tour. This hotel has one of the best views i have ever seen, but the beaches are not so big. There is a village called Los Gigantes near the hotel with some good restaurant but the best alternative is to visit the south of the island. The rooms are good but de air conditioning had some problems. they solved them fast with a Technician who is always around. The reception is very helpful and Kind, Nancy was GREAT. Fabian in the lobby bar served us always with a smile. The buffet is very good we loved Spanish food!! The pool area is unforgettable, there is an infinity pool facing the cliffs which is breathtaking

    “Amazing holiday!!!”

I love this hotel!! I stayed with my parents to celebrate mine and my Dad's birthdays. We've all stayed at the Barcelo before and thought it would it would be a nice idea to go back to celebrate and weren't disappointed. We arrived way before check in and one of our rooms was ready which is really handy. We decided to have lunch at the Pool Bar (we'd only gone half board) which was so tasty - we all had the Barcelo burger. Throughout the stay the staff were amazing!!! The restaurant staff were really friendly, always asking how our day was and how we were. The reception staff were great too and the entertainment team were really friendly and worked hard to make sure we enjoyed all the activities. Frankie and Jonathon were great!! We ate in the buffet restaurant which was great. The food was lovely and the chefs were friendly too. There was fresh food cooked every night including sushi, king prawns, steaks and veal kebab (all very tasty). I would highly recommend booking the romantic dinner - this was brilliant. We decided to go as a family as real celebration. The food was unreal. It was so tasty. We were treated really well and were provided with an amazing array of food. Two starters, two mains and a dessert!! Finally...our birthdays. The hotel were FANTASTIC!! We both received a huge slice of chocolate cake (our birthdays are on separate days so this was great) and I even Hd a free bottle of cava at breakfast with mine. I also ordered a birthday cake (€18) which was AMAZING!!! Not that we needed it as the hotel staff treated us really well but it was really pretty and very tasty. All in all we had a fantastic time and we will be returning many a time in the future!! Thank you once again to every at the Barcelo Santiago.
