    “Nice resort and greate animation team”

    The resort is good, clean and beautiful. Also the girls from animation team were very friendly and sociable. Go go go for Tamara and Karina! Was a grate week here in Punta Cana. Thank you a lot for everything!

    “Overall good”

    We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Occidental Punta Cana. Pros: - the hotel grounds are beautiful and are maintained to a very high standard. The three main swimming pools are also lovely and very clean. - we stayed in block 25 and found the room to be very spacious and modern. There was plenty of storage space and the sun beds on the terrace were a nice touch. - we ate at 4 of the a la carte restaurants (seafood, Italian, Asian and steakhouse) as well as the Mexican and pizza snack bars. We really enjoyed all these restaurants and found the food to be of a high standard. - the staff in the restaurants and buffet made a real fuss over our daughter which helped keep her entertained whilst we were trying to eat! Also the lovely cleaner who cleaned our room (25121) was so kind and always made sure we had plenty of bottled water for our baby’s bottles etc. Cons: - the atmosphere at the hotel when we arrived was very calm and relaxing but over the weekend this completely changed. The hotel got very full with big groups staying for the weekend who were there to party. I think has we known this we probably wouldn’t have booked this hotel as we really didn’t enjoy this. - we felt that the bars let the hotel down. I didn’t see a drinks menu the whole time we were there and at the beach club bar you couldn’t even see the spirits available. Also (maybe a very picky point) but the plastic glasses at the bar weren’t always very clean. - when we arrived I called reception to ask for extra bottled water in our room to make up my baby’s bottles. I had to ask a further 3 times, including once walking to reception with a bottle of water, to ask. It took all day for the water to turn up. Luckily our daughter only has two bottles a day but had she been younger this would have been a big issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel but had we known about the change in atmosphere at the weekend we probably wouldn’t have booked this hotel.

    “Great Place To Visit.”

    Excellent experience great place to go with your family. Is very family oriented. The staff was very nice and professional. Food at the buffets was great. The restaurants foods and service was excellent. Five stars. Will highly recommend the BARCELO OCCIDENTAL RESORT.

    “Great stay for the price”

    I actually booked this hotel as a last minute trip on Priceline.com. We stayed for 3 nights. This is a family-hotel and I believe there are options to upgrade to a fancier level. We had a clean room on building 11 and were close to the main pool and not too far from the main lobby and the beach. We did not get too much of an orientation about restaurant hours and locations but figured it out. One morning the main buffet was so full that they ushered us to the oceanfront restaurant. The buffet variety is good and international. The service is a bit slow as far as getting drinks and silverware and it was not a language barrier issue. On Saturday night, the line to the buffet restaurant was so long at 9pm that we left the resort and ate elsewhere. ROOMS: Rooms have a shower, tv, sofa and nice balcony. The room was quiet and clean and bed was comfortable. BEACH: plenty of space and lounges, beautiful water and trees STAFF: The staff we interacted with was very nice and took great care of us. I have not been to other Barcelo chains but was impressed and would say it is good for a family vacation.

    “A quick nice getaway”

    This place was very clean and well worth what we paid and more. The Dominican culture of people are not really social to the Americans but, we went for peace and quiet anyway and we have been the only Americans there. Would definitely go back. The food is a little weird as far as quality and if you’re looking to get drunk, it will not happen at the free bars. The beach is absolutely beautiful with a constant breeze. My overall experience was great. I loved it!!! Can’t wait to get back
