The stretch of beaches is approximately 14 kilometres from La Canaleta to El Portil. They are divided into zones, starting Monday, 15 June, as a safety measure to control the capacity, which is established at 108,032 beachgoers during high tide (there are 15,000 residents in the municipality of Punta Umbria). City Hall has determined that the beach must be divided into seven separate zones: La Canaleta-Ría, Albergue Juvenil-Avenida de Andalucía, Altavista-Pato Amarillo, Everluz-Puntamar, Los Enebrales, La Bota and El Portil. A separate flag will be placed in the Civil Protection checkpoints for these zones—in addition to the usual one with bathing suggestion—which will be raised when the beaches’ capacities have been reached.
