The best places for bird watching in Doñana are around the National Park. The northern area is a paradise for bird lovers, we have designed for you the best possible private guided tour to enjoy an intense journey and unforgettable experience

We will arrive to the northern area of Doñana passing through fields, rice paddies and marshes in the Guadalquivir River Delta. It's a long way to get to the José Antonio Valverde Visitor Center, but it's worth it, especially between fall and spring. We also visit the “Dehesa de Abajo” Nature Reserve, near the rice fields, where you can see several species of waterfowl

Possible birds for the checklist:

Residents: Glossy Ibis, Spoonbill, Cattle Egret, Night Heron, Flamingo, Squacco Heron, Red-crested Pochard, Hoopoe, Red-knobbed Coot, Stone Curlew, Spanish Sparrow, Lesser Short-toed Lark, Pin-tailed Sandgrouse. You may also catch a glimpse of the rare Spanish Imperial Eagle, White-headed Duck, Marbled Duck and Bittern.

Winter Birds: Greylag Goose, Pintail, Shoveler, Wigeon, Great Egret, Osprey, Hen Harrier, Short-eared Owl, Crane, Black-tailed Godwit, Black Stork.

Summer Birds: Short-toed Lark, Purple Heron, Bee-eater, Little Bittern, Gull-billed Tern, Short-toed Eagle, Black Tern, Collared Pratincole, Roller, Isabelline Warbler, Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin.

Migrants: Garganey, Temminck´s Stint, Winchat, Redstart, Curlew Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper.

Introduced: Common Waxbill, Yellow-crowned Bishop, Black-headed Weaver, Red Avadavat.

• The excursion is based on bird watching, although you don't need prior knowledge and the routes have a high environmental and landscape value by themselves 
• The duration of the excursion is 8 hours, to which we must add the time we need to pick-up you from your hotel to the activity starting point and return 
• Binoculars, we can lend you ours, but only if we have availability
• Activity not suitable for children under 12 years old

• IMPORTANT: It is an amazing excursión but intense, about 12 hours in total, so don't forget to bring a backpack with water, enough drink and food: Fruit, snacks, sandwiches, personal daily essentials, etc.
