    “Wow! What a place! Fantastic Food! Great pools! Great place to stay!”

    We've been to Cuba before, but not this resort. We expected the same blase food we had known the last time, which everyone says to expect. Not so here! The selection was great, the taste was great, nothing to complain about at all. Really enjoyed our stay!

    “Love this hotel!”

    Last time I was here was 6 years ago, much is the same, some things are much better. We had a coffee bar open every day in our building which was fantastic! Thanks to Moses for making our mornings! The swim-up bar/pool was closed and the 'quiet' pool was dirty which was a big disappointment. You would think that if one pool needs to be closed for repair, the other would be spic and span in return. I was disappointed that the new management (Allegro hotels) had decided to close the disco Havana Club to outsiders and only allow the people staying at the hotel to use it. This resulted in it being dead a lot of the time. Club 62 and Comparsita nearby make the location so perfect!! The a la carte restaurants were a big disappointment and were so much better 6 years ago. The entertainment staff were MIA during the day, but the shows in the evening were very nice. The food was okay, always plenty to eat, only bacon at breakfast on Tuesdays and Wednesdays-huh? And pretty repetitive, so we ate off-site a few times which can be expensive, but so worth it. I liked the times that the buffet was open as it gave us the flexibility to eat when we wanted to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartenders are all friendly and fair, the front desk was employed to scratch off our Wifi cards since most of us scratched too hard and took the code off as well. The $1 for an hour of wifi was amazing. I stayed in touch with home all week! In summary, I like this hotel and the location and will definitely be back-thanks to everyone at Palma Real for a great vacation!!!

    “Reduced in Quality of service”

    I've been to Palmas Real 6 or 7 times now but its safe to say I'm done. My experience wasn't horrible but it's worth paying an extra hundred or so for a better experience. I went in July and there were ALOT or locals staying. I love Cuba and it's people but i dont enjoy kids and their moms screaming all day when I'm trying to relax by the pool side. The buffet staff: The buffet staff is decent, the lady waiters aren't as customer service oriented as the males. One of them coughed without covering her mouth as shes walking around. You could sit there for 20 mins waiting for your glass of water. The lady making the omelette can't even speak English, so trying to tell her what i wanted in my omelette was like pulling teeth, ended up with something sweet in my eggs (that tastes like pineapple but looked like diced potatos). Front Desk: One of the front counter (reception) ladies is extremely rude, hung up in my face once. And another time made me pay for another wifi card even tho the one i bought lost the #s when i scratched it. Over all most of the people in the front (lobby, reception, security) have NO sense of urgency to get to u,they'd rather finish their conversation while keeping u waiting. Bartenders: It's a hit or miss, most are friendly but take their time just like the rest of the front staff lol. The party pool has been closed since mid 2017. So the 'Quiet Pool' isn't even quiet lol. The beach is also not on the resort, it's a 5-6 min walk from the resort. Havanna Club is now part of Palmas Real, so it has lost its Authenticity since only palmas real and barcelo guests can go. My experience here has always been decent but for some reason this time around its been worse and dont think its worth the $. I'd say the WORST thing here is the check-in and the best here is the hotels location. The location is excellent, cheap cab fares and generally walking distance to downtown. But ill probably book Barcelo or something else in this proximity next time. Its beem a good run Palmas Real!

    “Fifth time but last time”

    Just back a week now and still going over all the things that need to be worked on at this resort. Every year for the last 5 years we have picked this hotel, every year bringing new people with us, because it has always been our "go to" hotel. This will no longer be our spot!! Arrived at 10:30 am, rooms not ready until 4 pm. only 2 sections open so ended up in building 1, elevator still broken, not a biggie, can deal with that. Once in our rooms we discover mold and mildew pretty much everywhere, fridge wasn't working, told the front desk multiple times about this, never did get cold. Food was probably the worst that we have ever had in all the times we have been. Once Friday night hits, get to the buffet early, there were families with containers and bags filling up at the buffet and walking out the door. We seen this the entire weekend, what does someone do with a rubber maid container of ice cream???? Seriously!! We actually walked to the bakery down the road multiple times to buy food. The food that was there was cold most days. Seen a lot of our favorite people, Felix of course, always with a smile. Elena at the bar as well. Pool is in desperate need of repairs, my son spent most of his time picking up tiles from the bottom of the pool. This was such a disappointment from last year, when we arrived 6 days after the hurricane with probably the best week we had ever had. Dayana in the restaurant was absolutely amazing, almost forgot to mention her! We will now be looking for a new spot for next September, will miss all the staff for sure but won't put my family through that ever again. New owners, you seriously need to start working on the multiple complaints that are being reported, I don't think we met a single person that was happy this trip, my adivse, stay away!!!

    “Fifth time but last time”

Arrived at 10:30 am, rooms not ready until 4 pm. only 2 sections open so ended up in building 1, elevator still broken, not a biggie, can deal with that. Once in our rooms we discover mold and mildew pretty much everywhere, fridge wasn't working, told the front desk multiple times about this, never did get cold. Food was probably the worst that we have ever had in all the times we have been. Once Friday night hits, get to the buffet early, there were families with containers and bags filling up at the buffet and walking out the door. We seen this the entire weekend, what does someone do with a rubber maid container of ice cream???? Seriously!! We actually walked to the bakery down the road multiple times to buy food. The food that was there was cold most days. Seen a lot of our favorite people, Felix of course, always with a smile. Elena at the bar as well. Pool is in desperate need of repairs, my son spent most of his time picking up tiles from the bottom of the pool. This was such a disappointment from last year, when we arrived 6 days after the hurricane with probably the best week we had ever had. Dayana in the restaurant was absolutely amazing, almost forgot to mention her! We will now be looking for a new spot for next September, will miss all the staff for sure but won't put my family through that ever again. New owners, you seriously need to start working on the multiple complaints that are being reported, I don't think we met a single person that was happy this trip, my adivse, stay away!!!
