    “An oasis in Mexico City!”

    We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Our rooms, on the 14th floor, were clean and well kept; the breakfast buffet on the 12th floor was very convenient and the staff were absolutely excellent, going above and beyond! We would happily return!

    “It's a Nice Hotel”

    I was thrilled with the shower design. The TV turned on and off when I pushed the button (this seems to be an issue and many of the hotels I've stayed in). The A/C didn't work when I tried to turn it on, called Maintenance, waited an hour, nobody came, called again, after about 20 minutes a technician came and fixed the A/C. The wifi was zippity fast. The elevators were plentiful and not too long to wait for. The ambiance overall was quite pleasing The lodging bill was quite reasonable. The front desk staff seemed tired and not at all happy to be there but, alas, the "hospitality" business is truly a thankless profession.

    “Not a 5 star and 3 for service ”

    Not sure why the place is a 5 star hotel. Maybe because it has a spa? Frankly, it doesn’t deserve it. - room just about ok (stayed on the premium floor); no minibar; service knocking on the door at 8am with “good morning” - wasn’t sure what’s the purpose (I didn’t pay to be woken up) - spa - we booked massage for 3 and as one of the girls couldn’t be seen until an hour after first two girls she came at 4 (vs 3) to be told the spa didn’t have her booking and that there was no availability to do the massage... it was one of our friends 40th so it was not a nice experience... - first day my room wasn’t cleaned at all... had to call reception to send someone up - lounge food was just about ok but in general a decent idea in terms of space to chill - reception staff - no customer service skills, functional and generic... just getting on with their job... definitely didn’t make you feel welcome... - was charge almost equivalent of full night stay for late checkout (5pm) and reminded that I need to vacate room when time was getting close ... Area is ok - walking distance to the old town. Gym - well equipped, including Reforma pilates kit - unusual; Pool - ok. On positives - had the most amazing massage in their spa - second to none! Overall, large unwelcoming hall... unwelcoming reception staff... doesn’t feel like 5 star. Wouldn’t stay again. Before I moved there for the weekend I stayed in the Marriott I. Polanco - it’s only 4 stars but feels like 6 compare to Barcelo. A lot to work on for Barcelo!

    “Very Satisfied!”

    I will recommend the hotel for vacations and business. The location is very convenient. The food at el caballito was excellent. We had breakfast included and the happy hour on the 12th floor. It was wortthed. Very clean hotel and great service.

    “Not Trustworty”

    This hotel should be considered a lower star rating due to its quality of service and the hard product. Firstly, the hotel is in bad shape, with hard and old beds, stained blankets and towels, and creaking elevators. Secondly, their customer service is terrible. We ordered room service our first night and were told it would take 30-40 minutes, if not less. After an hour, I called down to see what was going on and I was reassured someone was on our floor with the food. Twenty minutes passed and the food was still not there. Calling back received he same answer, but it was obvious they had no idea what was going on. The food eventually arrived cold, and we were unfortunately still charged for the food that arrived at nearly 1am. They refused to refund us for the inedible food that had been sitting out for an unsafe amount of time.

However i must remind you that my night manger and I have been personally investigating the subject at hand, yes indeed we did inform you that it would take some time to deliver and since we did have a high demand that night and we understand that the wait was longer then expected. To compansate for the long wait we did offer a discount, which was taken into account the moment of check out. Once again we thank you for sharing this valuable feedback with us, please rest assured that the information you have provided will be used accordingly to enhance our future guests' experiences among us and we hope you will visit us again in the future.
