    “Nice stay in Occidental Punta Cana resort - October 2019”

    Overall, experience in Occidental Punta Cana resort this October, was pleasant. We were very lucky with the weather - no rain for all seven days. It is not the first time, we are visiting this resort. First our visit was a few years ago; Room was spacious and comfortable enough for two people. The only comment about the room would be that the water from the shower leaked into the bathroom after the shower was used, leaving large pools on the bathroom floor as the floor was not sloped to the drain. The same was happening during our previous visit though. So, this did not come to us as a big surprise. The stuff was generally polite and responsive to questions/comments. However, one person deserves special mentioning; Roberto Borrome, attending us at the reception from our arrival till the last day of our stay, went above and beyond, to meet our needs and provide the best service; He offered a room with more convenient location and better view for a reasonable premium and was very helpfull for the rest of our stay. He made our experience much more pleasant.

    My family and I stayed at Occidental Punta Cana and we loved it. The buffets especially the breakfast one is so good, the gym is perfect especially for runners, everyone is so friendly, and the rooms are very nice. The animation crew was amazing especially Marielys who was so nice and always included us in all the beach activities and made conversations with everyone.

    “unable to invite guests from other hotels or resorts to the Occidental without major obsickles and bad behaviour”

    the town of Punta Carna is not inviting or safe at night. Guests from the adjoining hotel resort were greeted with hostility and unable to visit in a reasonable manner or at all. which made the entire stay very awkward and unsatisfactory. Punta Karna town around the hotel resort is not either inviting or a safe place at night therefore the only reasonable meeting places are within the resorts who are all obstructive for guests to visit you. also started with a very bad disentry on my last day which made for a very uncomfortable journey back to the UK.

    “Too bad that the hotel allows partners inside the hotel that are total scams”

    I have to say that I was surprised by several things, emanating from the staff and partner staff of the hotel. First, during our stay, we were everyday chased by so called staff who wanted us to take part in a meeting to benefit from a "VIP membership" on future stays. In the beginning they were nice, but in the end it was like harassment (waiting for us at breakfast, waiting for us by our rooms, etc)... We were on holiday and didn't want to feel a commercial pressure, which was what took place unfortunately. The worst part was that we bought an excursion with a partner company called "Blue Travel Partner", through their representatives in the hotel (this company had a desk in the hotel...) On the day of the tour, after waking up at dawn, we waited 2 hours for our driver to transfer to the place of the excursion, and this one never arrived. The representative of the company Blue Travel Partner then promised us a refund on the American Express account that was used for payment, but this refund has never arrived. Mrs. Monique Cargnello of this company with whom I have been in contact since has been treating me as an idiot by indicating to me several times that I will be refunded. This never happened and it has been weeks now. I have alerted my tour operator, and the hotel, and left messages on TripAdvisor. Very bad experience but I keep my fingers crossed that I will be refunded for this excursion I paid for. I want my refund, or will take legal action.

    “Memorable vacation”

    We have been to so many resorts or hotels at Caribbean countries for the past ten years and Occidental Punta Cana is the best of them in the area of food, room and activities. The location is very secured as well.
