    “Nice 4 night break, just a few things....”

    We decided to have a 4 night break to Gran Canaria, away from the cold and wet of the UK.Temps mid 70s so very nice.. Glad we chose this hotel and got a good half board package, where I guess this is an off peak period, being the beginning of December. The hotel is large, forming of 2 blocks, one block are suites, the other are standard hotel rooms. Our room was "superior" but I am not sure what the extra is, only that our room was on the 7th floor with tea/coffee making facilities, low step in shower, balcony,safe etc. Anyway, check in was friendly, helpful and efficient. We had a 30 minute transfer time to the hotel from the airport. We arrived early but the hotel found a room for us that was available. Room safe us €3 a day with a €12 refundable deposit but please be aware that the key inserts in the inside door of the safe not the outside even though there is a key entry point showing on the outside! Very confusing.... The room on entering was clean which is very important with a balcony overlooking one of the two pools here at the hotel, along the bar and gym building in the background. The balcony are ve⁸, sleeping very well most nights, 9 hours plus, so really catching up from the grind of work at home. Main issue- well a massive lack of air conditioning. Very hot and stuffy in the room with the system being turned off at 9pm. Why not turn it off at midnight when the temperature drops enough? The ventilation system in general is just not good enough and it's a time of year when temperatures are at their lowest> of power and temperature. Good amount of clean towels and clean bedding but the first night we had some screaming and shouting in German for an hour or so near to us, it was frightening. I think security knocked on the door and sorted it out. It was fine after that. This was the first time that we did a half board option, but I don't think we will do it again. We had breakfast and evening meals in our hotel package held in the hotel's main restaurant. All I can describe the experience was total chaos. I dread to think what it would be like in school holidays but the demand fast exceeded supply. Way too guests, overworked and not enough staff to manage the demand of people. Many tables missing cutlery, glasses with tables pushed too close together to improve the experience. It was a shame because there was a good choice of food available in a buffet style. The mains changed everyday to mix things up a little. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly and did everything they could but the whole experience suffered due to having too many guests. There was a large area of seating roped off which they should have used to improve the flow of guests. The hotel is a 4 star at the most. Some areas of the hotel need some sprucing up. There is an hours entertainment in the evening which is good of various song and dance. There is a hotel shuttle bus to the beach but you can walk it in 30 minutes. If you turn right outside the hotel, follow the road for around half a mile to the roundabout, the bus stop takes you to most places. Across the road is a well priced Dino express supermarket. Overall we enjoyed our stay, except for a stuffy room and very busy restaurant. Good value for money, and overall recommended.

    “Just 4 days”

    Brilliant hotel, cleaners everyday and I was only there 4 days with my mum. We did b+b and breakfast was brill. Entertainment at night was good. Only negative was there was only 1 English Channel, that’s literally it. Everything else was brilliant.

    “Okay, but can do better”

    Not bad, but certainly for this price you can get better hotel. The fours stars are too much, closer to 3 or 3,5. If you are all inclusive stay in the hotel kind of person who enjoys the day programs and day drinking this might be your place.

    “Return to a good hotel”

    I used to holiday at the Margaritas a long time ago but moved elsewhere as I felt it had gone down but decided to try it once more and I was very impressed. Rooms were attractive with the makeover even though the shower is very tricky to get it from cold and not too hot. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The food was excellent with an extensive choice and the restaurant had plenty of room always.

    “great stay”

    amazing stay in the middle of November, very clean , great pools and sport activities. I was very happy with food, very good quality and a lot for choice, even fussy kids found something hey like. I liked bed in the bedroom, the only one thing I didnt like was the sofa we used to sleep on too, it was very easy to hurt shins with its metal frame. Neverthless we had an amazing time. Stuff was lovely , hotel very clean ,shuttle buses to the beach.
