“Great hotel in a mainly Spanish resort”

Visited with my 10 year old son and we had a fantastic holiday. If you’re expecting a typical Brit package holiday experience then this is not for you If you want to experience a more local food language and have a relaxing time without the Jeremy Kyle crew round the pool then this is for you The restaurants are varied and during busy times you have an allocated time slot. That wasn’t an issue for us. Rooms are spotless Facilities excellent Staff are friendly but not all speak English Would definitely visit again. The beach disappointed but the pools are great at the hotel

“Not a 4 star hotel at a 4 star hotel price”

This hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel. In realisty, it’s not. Detalis: Rooms. Quite spacious, clean - cleaned every day. But... many little things are broken. A handle for towels broken, the TV is not straight - and cannot be positioned properly, beds are not bound together in a king bed room. Beach. Pretty nice beach, finally its the Atlantic Ocean. The tides are pretty huge, but this gives a chance to collect some interesanta shells. Beware of Jellyfish. You need to walk to the beach, and there is no hotel beach bar, but this is simply reality in Spain. Food. Total mess. Most of the food is a highly pre-procesed, deeply frozen food, just heated before serving. I’d expect great Spanish food in Andalucia - there is so mich in the area - hams, beef, great wine, sea-food. None of this is available as fresh. Todays example- Salmon was served, with absolutely no taste. List have been deeply frozen before. Food quality is a B-I-G issue in this hotel. Animation: Totally Spanish oriented, although there were some animation in English, a little. Still problem seem to be pretty happy with animation, simple gamet and activities bring some fun. Flights. Flights from most of Central Europe are 3-4 hours. That is a great thing compared to eg Canary Islands, but then, You usually have about 2 hours of bus ride... Conclusion. Pretty nice hotel with a catastrophy in the kitchen. Price to value ratio behind the competition in Canary Islands. Rooms acceptable with some glitches...

    “Fantastic Hotel ( BUT ) !!!!!”

Hi Again !!! My Partner and i stayed at this Hotel from Saturday 8th September - 22nd September 2018. On an All Inclusive Basis. We had to fly into Portugal and then transfer by coach over " the border " and unfortunately it took two hours ( not great when we had been up very early that morning ) !!!!! When we arrived at the Hotel, we had to wait about 15 mins to be booked in , as the reception desk was very busy with other clients. The reception staff are very good and patient , as our broken Spanish-English was a bit of a problem but we got there in the end !!!!!!!! When we were booked in , Our Room was ready for us to go to , which was a relief as we were very tired, also it was very warm at the time !!!!!! Our Room Was On The First Floor ( room no.3116 ) Be Aware it wont matter which floor you are on, there are 4 altogether , you will not get A SEA VIEW !!!!!! So dont go paying any extra !!!!!!! The room was very nice ( standard double room , with a massive Bed !!!! , very big bathroom , with bath / shower, and plenty of towels , and a hairdryer. !!!!!!!! When you are booked in , you are given a Meal Card with the names of Four different Restaurants ( Which you are Allocated for your stay, and you have to go to that restaurant , for your evening Meal ) !!! There is ONE Restaurant in Building no.1, Then there are TWO Restaurants in Building no.2, And The Last Restaurant is in Building no.3 Sorry about this, but this Hotel is Massive and spread over a very big area , there are 3 Blocks, which each hold 400 rooms. There are at least 9 swimming pools spread over the 3 blocks , there is a very large pool, and two smaller ones for the kiddies. !! On our block which was no.1, there is a childrens playgound with swings and a climbing frame , and also another seperate area with water fountains, and hoses to squirt water at each other, and the parents !!!!! There is also a very well run Childrens club, think its called DARCYS , run by the Animation Team, there are other activities run also for the Adults, which you can join in with , or just chill out by the pool, ( or near to the bar, my Favourite) !!!! The drinks in the bars are Main Brands , and not the usual local stuff , and given in very nice big measures !!!!!! In the Second Block , there is a massive Auditorium, on the First Floor, which is where the evening entertainments are held , either by the Animation Team or by other Acts that are booked in Advance by the Hotel , we saw a couple of very good shows whilst we were there, and others put on by the Animation Team, you will have to try and follow whats going, on as most of it was in Spanish !! The hotel and the grounds are kept Spotless, by the cleaning staff etc, nothing is too much trouble, our room was cleaned every day, and one day we needed clean towels , so i phoned down to Reception and asked if it was possible , and was told , no problem, we went out for the afternoon, and when we got back, HEY PRESTO, fresh clean towels ( sorted ) !!!!! Oh Yes, in all of the restaurants , the meals times are as follows. BREAKFAST, 8.AM - 11.AM LUNCH , 1.30PM - 3.45PM DINNER, 8.00PM - 11.00PM On your Meal Card , you will be Allocated a TIME , To go in for your Meals , Ignore it , as thats what we did , we thought that 8PM was way too early for our evening meal , and the same with Lunch , as long as you show your MEAL CARD when you go in, it will be OK !! Just for now , i will mention a couple of other items of Interest for you all WI FI, this is FREE !!!!!! you will get a very good reception , either in the Hotel building, also your room, and outside in the Hotel Grounds !! The LOG IN DETAILS AND PASSWORD, is provided on the information sheet given too you when you check in OK !! Another good idea is as you know when you pack to go away , you always take your own POOL OR BEACH TOWELS YEH !! Well i would say , dont bother , You can HIRE towels at the Hotel 10 Euros Each , and Exchange them up to THREE TIMES FOR the Duration of your stay ( simples ) !! And save the Weight on your Luggage Allowance , the 10 Euros is a DEPOSIT which will be returned back to you, so nothing LOST !! RIGHT NOW UNFORTUNATELY ( THE BUT PART ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT LETS THIS HOTEL DOWN IS , THE FOOD !!!!!! NOT THE FOOD ITSELF , THERE IS SUCH A VARIETY AT EACH AND EVERY MEALTIME !!!!! ITS THE FACT THAT THE FOOD IS EITHER LUKE WARM, OR EVEN COLD !!!!!!! A LOT OF THE MAIN DISHES ARE IN WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS OBLONG POT TRAYS , AND ALTHOUGH THEY ARE ON TOP OF A HOTPLATE , THE HEAT FROM THE HOTPLATE ISNT GETTING THROUGH ENOUGH TO CONSTANTLY KEEP THE FOOD HOT ENOUGH !! AND unfortunately THIS IS THE SAME IN ALL OF THE FOUR RESTAURANTS !! IN FACT , ON SUNDAY MORNING 16th SEPT, WE HAD A LETTER PUSHED UNDER THE DOOR , INFORMING US THAT WE WERE NO LONGER ABLE TO USE ANY OF THE OTHER RESTAURANTS EXCEPT OUR OWN, WHICH WAS CALE !! NOW PLEASE , There is a simple remedy to this PROBLEM , PLEASE , PLEASE , STOP USING THOSE POT TRAYS !!!!!!!!!! USE STAINLESS STEEL TRAYS , AS THESE WILL ABSORB THE HEAT MUCH BETTER , AND KEEP THE FOOD CONSTANTLY HOTTER !!! ALSO INVEST IN HEAT LAMPS OVER THE TOP OF THE TRAYS , AGAIN THIS WILL ALSO HELP TO KEEP THE FOOD HOT !!!!! I HAVE SAID THIS BEFORE IN THE PAST AND WILL KEEP SAYING IT !!!! ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, TO BE ABLE TO KEEP FOOD HOT !!! Its Such A SHAME , as you are RATED AS A 4 STAR HOTEL , you have AN OBLIGATION to LOOK AT these REVIEWS , AND ACTION THEM , AND IMPROVE THE SERVICES YOU ARE PROVIDING !! ALSO , another item of interest for you to look at is , the dining tables outside CALE Restaurant on the TERRACED Section , THE TABLES ARE ATROCIOUS , A lot of them have FEET MISSING OFF THEM , AND ARE NOT STEADY ENOUGH TO SIT AT, IN FACT SOME OF THEM , WHERE THERE IS A FOOT MISSING , HAS HAD A PACK OF TISSUE PAPER SHOVED UNDER IT, TO TRY AND LEVEL IT OUT !! AGAIN , IM SORRY BUT THIS IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH . YOU MUST HAVE A VERY WELL ESTABLISHED MAINTENANCE TEAM ON SITE , SO GET THEM TO SORT IT OUT !! I HAVE DONE A LOT OF REVIEWS OF HOTELS IN THE PAST , AND THIS IS AN HONEST DOWN TO EARTH REVIEW !! As i said earlier , before this , its a great Hotel , with great staff , and we couldnt fault the weather either whilst we were there for the Two Weeks !!! Also While staying at the Hotel , we booked TWO TRIPS , through The THOMAS COOK REP , only because we couldnt find a local Travel Agency Shop over the road in the shopping Complex. The first ONE was a full day out on A RIVER CRUISE , With lunch included , over the Border in PORTUGAL , that was on Sunday 16th SEPT, its was 60 Euros Each , and was well worth the money. !!! The Second ONE was again a full day out to SEVILLE on Weds 19th SEPT , and this was 40 Euros each , no lunch included , but again was well worth the money !! IM afraid for us , we will not be looking to book, to return to this hotel anytime soon , BUT , i do not wish to want to put any one off from doing so. OH YEH , almost forgot , TO GET TO THE BEACH YOU will have to cross over the Road at the back of the Hotel , and walk up a little Hill , then along a WOODEN PATHWAY , which by the way , will take you about , depending how hot it is on that Day , about 10-15 mins , so if you see anything in the THOMAS COOK brochure that says its only a couple of minutes away ( thats utter rubbish ) !! When you get on to the BEACH you will not be disapointed , its absolutely luvly, its quiet, there are plenty of SUNBEDS , And there is a cafe/bar there as well , we had a lunch there a couple of days before we were due to come home , and a couple of drinks too ( of course ) Again well worth the money , so please try it !!!!!!!!!

Great Hotel for the Family. Service is just OVER THE TOP, doing in some cases the EXTRA MILE. Location is also gut, just 1 hour and half from Sevilla AP. It is just a few minutes from the beach, going through a beautiful forest. Services in hotel are good, and for families is just great. We are coming back

“Tired of crowd and children shouting”

Huge hotel for people with kids mainly. No music at the pool (only when there was fitness). I was there 12 days and I did not relax. Lots of kids shouting and nothig else you can hear. I talked to experience manager about playing some music he took my room number and never came back (today is my last day). Food ok. You get a schedule of restaurants on your arrival and eat dinner at barious restaurants (they have 4). Cale and Brujula bery good, the rest below average. Breakfast very boring and the only (!) begetable you can have is tomato! Lunches better and more varied. Animations only in Spanish. One team to serve 3 pools so you will not see them often. Kappa Club had a person who organized atteactions for their clients. It is a pity that ITAKA does not do it. Spanish waiters/waitress do not even bother to try to speak english. Where are those smiled Spanish people? Not in Punta Umbria for sure. Service level medium. Walk for thw beach around5-6 min but bery pleasant with nice views. I would not come here again or recommend this hotel to my friends. See not good for diving or snirkling - you cannot see anything in this water.
