    “Great Hotel - Perfect Location”

    This is a perfect place to stay in Bilbao if you want to be close to old town and visit the Guggenheim . The staff were efficient and the hotel is modern. The rooms are very adequate, quiet, well appointed and comfortable - the beds were extremely comfortable and the sheets a high quality. The hotel is on the river so a very pretty walk in any direction if you hug the water. We only there one night but I see a lot more potential in the city and would definitely return and stay at this hotel.

    “Good location - focus is on the corporate market”

    This hotel is well situated on the river and close to all attractions. We were in room 106 which was clean and quiet. This hotel is very much aiming at the big groups and corporate market, we didn’t feel the personal touch at all, despite deciding to stay here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I did contact them in advance to ask about early access to our room and keeping our room on after noon, it took 3 emails before I got a response which was rather curt and on the day, neither was possible. The rooms are very modern but given it was a 4* I expected robes and slippers plus toiletries which included hair conditioner and body moisturiser, they just provided soap, shampoo and shower gel. A kettle was provided but only 2 cartons of milk per day and no complimentary water. We did very much enjoy Bilbao but I think if we return we would stay elsewhere.

    “Fantastic Hotel”

    Stayed in this hotel for one night. Great location on the river, excellent service at check in and room was modern and big. Very good quality bed linen and towels. Loved this hotel and will stay again if lucky to visit Bilbao again. Well done to all of the staff who made our stay very enjoyable.

    “Perfect stay”

    We were sadly only one night here and would definitely come back. The room was comfortable and quiet, the location is perfect, near to the Guggebhiem and the old city, and the breakfast couldn't have been better. Thank you also to the frendliness of the staff.

    “Great location poor service”

    We came for 2 week vacation in the Basque country and decided to stay in central location and travel. This hotel did not meet our expectations. Here is why.1. Rooms are small, not in line with the pricing2. Internet is not available. We stayed in room 425 and in 80% of the cases Wifi was not working. We filed 2 complaints with no resolution.3. Trying to solve all problems with spraying perfume like smell in the lobby is simply horrible. For people that can smell anything at all this is unbearable.4. There is no real service culture. In most cases we had 2 problems - no understanding of English and no real attention to the problem, the way staff is trained to treat guests is very superficial. No information is being volunteered, like for instance parking validation at the public parking. I was told by the parking attendant in Spanish that we can save 10% on a daily basis, which was not coming from the hotel.5. Concierge is a nice lady but only available in limited hours but also not offering anything proactively. We stayed for 2 weeks and only got specific answers to specific questions. We got all of our information from the tourist office in Bilbao including recommended driving routes, places to see etc. I am very used to hotel concierge to be way more proactive.6. Smell in the corridors. Your cleaning staff is not using deodorants and corridors are not being ventilated in any reasonable way.7. No nets on the windows. This is an issue in all of Europe but without the nets insects are coming in and ruin good sleep.8. Bedding quality. While linens are super clean and nice the blankets and pillows are really sub-par synthetic and not pleasant for use. Again at 4 star hotel I would expect another level.9. Smokers are allowed to smoke right in front of the hotel sliding doors, with all the smoke coming in. For non smokers it is a real problem.10. Coffee machines at breakfast are not in line with demands. There are constant lines to get coffee and machines only offer very small portions, plus get overused, need cleaning to operate. I saw this every single day of 2 weeks we stayed at the hotel.On the plus side location is great, breakfast has plenty of options and cleaners do a fair job inside the room.
