    “Wonderful stay”

    This was a wonderful place to stay. It's a smaller resort. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food wasn't excellent but there were always plenty of choices. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Already planning a trip next year and will stay at OccidentalTamarindo!

    “Nice enough..”

    A solid 3 star. The grounds were lovely and nicely maintained as was the pool area. The beach was great. But there were a lot of little things that detracted from the overall experience. The king bed, while comfortable, had no matress pad and the sheets were too short. Half the time, a bath mat was not left which was especially a problem as the floors were tile. The minibar was "stocked" with 2 beers, 2 waters and a Coke. The screen door to the balcony was torn and the hair dryer holder kept falling off the wall. The chairs in open air lobby were missing cushion covers and pillow covers, they were just the foam. The staff was incredibly hard working and attentive. The food was OK. We opted for the all inclusive package but discovered the only option was the buffet as we had not been informed the a la carte restaurant was only open 3 nights a week so dinner became repetitive and uninspired. All in all, we did have a nice vacation however, although I would not return.

    “Great variety of activities & entertainment”

    Barcelo Langosta has great personnel, wonderful entertainment and an excellent variety of activities throughout the day. Good buffets at breakfast, lunch and dinner, but missing ceviche! Sometimes long waits at pool-side bar for drinks.

    “Great location”

    The overall resort is very nice - the rooms are older and have not been updated and we had major problems just getting a lamp for our nightstand. The pool area is great and the beach fantastic. They had zumba classes, water aerobics and salsa classes. The food was not great - the fruits and vegetables good but the meat not and overall very substandard. The all inclusive is a detriment when it comes to drinking - the wine was awful and only one beer on tap that wasn't good either.

    “Tamarindo CR”

    The staff was very helpful, but keep in mind its a small resort, the food was fine, not great, but there was usually something on each menu, that stood out from the others. The wings and snacks at the snack bar were great. Drink service was slow. The pool was small and busy, and there was a volleyball net in the middle of the pool that was never moved, so interfered very much with the pool. Beach was not the greatest, it was not maintained very well, and as its a public beach, the locals walk their dogs there often, and do not always clean up after then. We had one very amazing bartender, who was always there to serve you, but not make you crazy. There were a few locals selling their wares, but they were not aggressive, as they are in town. Most evening, as we were a large group, we sat in the lobby, which was always fun, service was ok, but you could get your own drinks, so no real problem. Rooms were clean, but very poor lighting in the evening, getting to your rooms, this really needs to be improved, as it is a serious safety concern, especially if you are on the 3rd floor. We were all inclusive, but we spend a lot of time in town, and that was fun. but as we were there when the hurricane landed, the roads were terrible, but we rented Golf carts and went into town and that was a lot of fun. Also right across the road is a small pizza place and it was wonderful. A few little place close by, that were very good and reasonable. Good idea to check them out.
