    “A very nice stay, however definitely not 5 Star”

    We stayed here for 6 nights for a relaxing break. The rooms are all the same size with different balcony views. Pool areas and gardens are lovely. Rooms nice but this is not a 5 Star Hotel. If you want luxury this is not the place to go. Great for couples and beach walks.

    “Perfect stay!”

    After a first stay in this hotel in April 2018, I've decided to return a few months later with my wife and my son, between 14 and 19 June 2018. Our second stay was as wonderful as the first one! The hotel is beautiful, full of palm trees and facing a clean, turquoise water sea. The hotel's spa facility is probably the best in all Andalusia, as it it very spacious and luxurious, and administered by a competent, friendly and accommodating staff. Clients are treated like royals by the hotel staff who are very friendly, helpful and truly worthy of a 5-stars service. The Director of the hotel, Ignacio Martin addressed us a personal note at our arrival to welcome us. As for the subdirector of the hotel, M. Jaafar Chelaifa, he has done everything in his power to make our stay there as pleasant as possible. He was very attentive to our family’s needs and would always make himself available to resolve our problems or answer our questions. He speaks French fluently which was very practical! We cannot thank him enough for his professionalism, his kindness and his constant availability. My family and I will not hesitate to come back several days every year as it is the perfect place to relax and take a break from daily life!

    “Our best hotel experience in Sancti Petri”

    We are loving our stay here at the Royal Hideaway and will be sorry to leave tomorrow morning. We've been here for 10 days and have enjoyed every moment. Travelling with TUI from Belgium, we are on half board which suits us very well. The buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent although the option to have dinner in the other restaurants would have been welcome. Our room on the 4th floor with sea view and large terrace was most welcome. Thank you to all the very kind and proficient staff for making our stay so very special. We hope to return in the near future.

    “Great Manager Jaffar”

    Rooms were nice and service was ok...but manager Jaffar helped with everything and "made" our vacation...from helping us rent car to tourist attractions. The service we received from him was first rate!! We were there with group and alot of service issues from general staff.

    “Wonderful property, poor customer service and value for money”

    This is a wonderful property, rooms are spacious, views are excellent and the pool facilities are exceptional. The food was pretty good for a buffet (half board). The hotel is expensive to begin with but we thought the 5 star rating merited the premium, but there is absolutely no concept of this being managed as a 5 star hotel. We had several incidences of really poor service, which when challenged the staff were extremely defensive and at times rude. My biggest gripe is the lack of clarity around hidden charges. We used certain services which we were unaware attracted additional charges and challenged staff over the lack of clarity. We were practically ridiculed, including by senior management. I raised this with Barcelo head office and was disappointed when the complaint was passed to the hotel to respond to me. The hotel offered if I would like to return that they would “treat me like a VIP”, surely they should treat every guest like a VIP and these complaints wouldn’t arise. Another example is that all food and drink prices on menus don’t include IVA (tax) so expect an extra 10 percent on your final bill. I suspect there is better value and better service within a stones throw of this hotel. The culture of poor customer service in this hotel would not lead me to recommend it or return. Disappointing for the Barcelo brand.

As to what the clarity of our charges are concerned our prices are exposed in our outlets and outside the outlets (elevators, website, menus). Our Staff is also at complete disposal in order to clarify potential doubts. Our main focus is to give the maximum publicity of our prices so that our guests are aware of their presence and availability and therefore enjoy our services. All our prices include IVA, and are visible in our menus; we have taken also in consideration your complaint addressed to Barceló on the Blowing charges which are exposed in many different areas of the hotel. Please accept our sincere apologies if you felt ridiculed as it is the last thing we wanted is for you to have this interpretation. Our main concern is that guests have memorable stays in our hotel and comeback and visit us; we are very frustrated that it is not the case for you. Thank you again for your recent visit, our primary goal being to assure our guests feel comfortable and enjoy their experience.
