Description

Nestled between Malta and Gozo, the island of Comino is a true haven for swimmers, snorkelers, divers, and nature lovers. Covering just 3.5 square kilometers, this island is virtually uninhabited, offering an escape into pure serenity.

Your journey begins at the Sliema Ferries in the morning, where you’ll embark on a scenic cruise toward Comino. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the Sliema promenade, St. Julian’s Bay, St. George’s Bay, St. Paul’s Bay, St. Paul’s Island, and Mellieħa Bay.

After a brief photo stop at Mġarr Harbour in Gozo to drop off guests disembarking there, we head straight to Comino. Here, you’ll have approximately 3.5 hours to explore and appreciate this charming gem of the Mediterranean.

Prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking Blue Lagoon! Its turquoise, crystal-clear waters, white sandy seabed, and vibrant marine life create the perfect setting for relaxation and unforgettable memories.

Spend your time basking in the sun, swimming, snorkeling, or strolling through Comino’s unspoiled countryside. On your return to Sliema, the cruise will also pass by the enchanting Comino sea caves.

From May to October (weather permitting), the itinerary includes an additional 45-minute stop at either the Crystal Lagoon—a stunning spot with turquoise waters framed by dramatic cliffs and caves, perfect for swimming and snorkeling—or St. Nicholas Bay, a peaceful inlet featuring two small sandy beaches and calm, shallow waters.

With no cars or urban development, Comino is equally appealing in autumn and winter, making it a fantastic destination for hikers and photography enthusiasts. Discover scenic trails leading to St. Mary’s Chapel, St. Mary’s Watch Tower, and St. Mary’s Battery.

What should you know before you go?

• Important Notice: Following a new directive issued by the Government of Malta, effective May 2025, to disembark ashore at the Blue Lagoon, one must obtain an access pass in advance. Passes can be acquired through the official government website blcomino.com. Please ensure you acquire this pass in advance, as the daily pass allocation is limited. You will not be allowed to disembark at the Blue Lagoon without an official pass. For this trip, you are required to book the afternoon timeslot when applying for your pass. Kindly note that this is a government-mandated regulation and not a policy introduced by us. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

• For the boarding, you must arrive at the departure location 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

• The boat departs from Sliema Ferries, Triq Ix-Xatt, Sliema; the departure point is near the 'Ferries 4' bus stop. When you arrive at this location, you need to look for either the 'Kataleya' boat (white boat) or the 'Lady Shelley' boat (white/red/yellow boat). The trip will be done on one of these vessels.

• The duration of the activity is approximately 7 hours from November to April and approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes from May to October.

• The boat is wheelchair and stroller accessible; however, the island of Comino is not wheelchair or stroller friendly. The terrain on Comino Island is very uneven and rugged, which makes it very difficult to navigate with a wheelchair or a stroller.

• This is not a guided tour; any stops will be at your leisure (free time).

• Not recommended for travellers with mobility impairments.

• Not recommended for travellers who are prone to sea sickness.

• A cash bar serving some snacks and beverages is available on the boat. Both cash and credit card payments are accepted at the bar.
