Description
Less than two hours from Tangier, Tetouan is home to one of the most authentic medinas in northern Morocco, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This excursion offers insight into a city shaped by Andalusian heritage and a rich cultural mix.
The journey begins with a drive from Tangier to Tetouan, crossing the landscapes of the Rif Mountains. On arrival, a professional guide leads a walking tour through the medina, where narrow streets and traditional workshops reflect a way of life that has been preserved over time.
Along the route, you will explore the souks, the Jewish quarter and areas influenced by the former Spanish protectorate, still visible in parts of the city. The visit also includes the Archaeological Museum, adding historical context to the experience.
After the guided tour, there is free time to continue exploring at your own pace, observe daily life or take a break in one of the quieter corners of the city before returning.
