Our journey begins at the Vila Real do Santo António Pier in Portugal. We'll board the Arimar, a magnificent classic trawler meticulously restored from the 1960s. With a capacity for 44 passengers and a length of 16 meters, this vessel embodies the artistry of naval craftsmanship from its era.
For two hours, we'll sail past the city, navigating towards the mouth of the river. We'll then reverse course and embark on a captivating journey that transcends borders. Witness the charming medieval town of Castro Marim, the salt pans nestled within the natural landscape where water birds find refuge among the reeds. We'll also pass by Ayamonte, the Guadiana International Bridge, the burgeoning tourist developments of Costa Isuri, and the picturesque Castro Marim Golf course.
Around noon, upon reaching the mainland, we'll delve into the captivating cultural and historical heritage of Vila Real de Santo António, a city steeped in enlightenment ideals. This guided tour concludes at approximately 1:00 PM.
