Description
Travel from Pamplona to the heart of La Rioja and experience one of Spain’s most celebrated wine regions through its flavours, landscapes and culinary traditions. This journey offers an authentic introduction to Rioja’s winemaking heritage while passing through vineyard-covered scenery and charming rural towns.
The experience includes a visit to a local winery where you will learn about the different stages of wine production, from grape cultivation to ageing and storage techniques. During the tour, you will also gain insight into the history of the Rioja D.O., whose international reputation expanded significantly in the late 19th century after French winemakers recognised the exceptional conditions of the area.
The visit continues with a guided wine tasting led by local specialists, introducing the distinctive characteristics that define Rioja wines and the region’s long-standing viticultural tradition. Throughout the route, vineyard landscapes provide a constant backdrop to the experience.
Later, you will sit down to enjoy a traditional four-course Rioja lunch in a typical local restaurant. Depending on the season and selected venue, the menu may feature regional dishes prepared with local ingredients such as blood sausage, peppers, Rioja-style beans, potatoes with chorizo, charcoal-grilled lamb chops and the traditional Goxua dessert.
The scent of wine cellars, the warmth of Rioja cuisine and the peaceful vineyard surroundings create lasting memories of this celebrated wine region.
