Food and history are deeply connected in Barcelona, and this private walking experience brings both together through local flavours and historic streets. While moving between traditional bars and neighbourhood landmarks, you will gain insight into the city’s evolution from Roman times to the medieval period.
The route begins near Plaça Sant Jaume, the former political and Roman centre of Barcelona. From there, the walk continues through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, where ancient remains, medieval squares and centuries-old buildings still shape the atmosphere of the old city. The first food stop introduces a traditional pinchos bar, serving small bites popular across northern Spain.
The experience then reaches El Born, historically associated with wealthy merchants and artisan guilds that played a major role in medieval Barcelona’s prosperity. Along the way, you will pass Gothic palaces, historic commercial streets and the impressive basilica of Santa Maria del Mar.
